Depending on what level of epics though. 277 gear should last until 85 heroics or raids.

Yay for greens! Off topic one of my characters, a mage has a set of greens that makes him look as much like Link as you can get, since I have Linken's Boomerange and Linkin's Sword of Mastery, I thought it'd be fun =) As for Cata, I'd probably save my Epics for a while.

Yes i would i don't care what color they are at all! The only thing i care about is the stats and can it improve my healing.

Looks are a luxury and not a necessity in WoW when it comes down to serious progression in both PvE and PvP. I might be sad to see my old gear retired to a dark corner of my bank of course, but if the greens had better stats then I would of course use them.

A matching Tabard and a nice combination of Helm and Cloak toggle is usually enough anyway if you are seriously bothered by it.

My T2.5/T3 lasted into Kara, T6/Sunwell gear lasted into Naxx... only exceptions being weapons/rings/neck.

I'm sure my 277's will last until atleast 85 blues/Heroic epics - though with the implementation of Mastery Rating on gear, not sure how Blizz will re-itemize WotLK epics, if they will at all.

No they don't. Only bad epics, like t9, will be replaced by greens and blues.

I believe it was stated that all old gear was being completely redone to accommodate for the new stat losses/gains. I assume that means, say, mail gear will lose all AP and ArP, and gain Mastery in it's place, or something like that.

to expand upon that, I did see a post that one of the invited press members to that conference last week did. He said one of the quest rewards (a green sword)in Mt. Hyjal was lvl 272 and replaced his Quel delar.

Watched a youtube video of normal Blackrock Caverns in the alpha.
Last boss dropped a healing mace.
It had more spellpower than my 277 trauma.

I'm pretty sure I saw something from the press tour thing that the very first quest this guy did in Hyjal had a selection of ilvl 272 greens as rewards.

every expansion the BIS items you fought so hard for are replaced by greens blues or other epics- will ppl use green items if they are superior to their epics - the raiders will cuz progress > looks
