Prot T10 4P Set. Which is the odd man out?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. Did a little digging, no luck.

Ok to the point. For T9 (From my understanding) Helmet was the odd man out for the Prot set.

    Given the following facts.

Capable of doing 10 and 25m ICC.

No (as of yet) access to Heroic Tier Piece Tokens.

Which of the Tier 10 set is the "odd man out"? And can be better replaced with something (Purchased with Frosts, Made (Blacksmithing), or dropped (25m Helmet/Pants).

As far as I know it's legs. Get the crafted Legs, Pillars of Might.

Thank you muchly. What if I were to have (been lucky enough)to have a sanc pair of pants drop in VoA?

Sanc the other 4 pieces and replace?

or is it one of those sidegrade things?

    Indeed.

Basically at the 264 level. You NEED 4 of the pieces to be Tier. The 5th slot is usually the one which is replaced with something of the same level but gives the best bonus. (Token Purchased T9 Helm for example)

I'm asking at then END of it all, (regardless of whether or not I have sanc pants) the pillars are by far the best contender?

I think WarriorGuides hit the nail on the head.

Basically Pants are odd-man-out until BiS shoulders.

    Works for me. Thanks guys!

Try get the 4 setbonus and use the vendor chest from frost emblems. That way you cover the expertise wich you will lack in full 264 gear.

from what ive seen most of them use the leggings

A little off topic, but why do the tanks I usually see don't have the 4 set bonus, usually (almost always) i see prot warriors wearing 2 pieces and the rest normal gear. Why is this?

Most probably don't have access to the 4 pc sanctified, or don't have access to information... like they are banned from the internet...

    IMMA CHARGIN' MA' VENGEANCE!

i only use 4pc for fights like festergut, sindragosa, LK , BQL ect.
    you know, harder hitting bosses

If you can get pillars of might, then pants, otherwise chest (use badge +armor chest).

I wrote this looong thread comparing items and whatnot then my computer decided to mess with me and gave me a blue screen. Anyway, to cut it short, since there arent any superior off pieces in ICC25 Heroic there is no point in not going 4p-bonus on all bosses. The only off pieces which are giving you EH-upgrades are legs and shoulders. The upgrades are minor and the stats you are trading away wont do you any harm. My point is, if you have access to all 277 loot the best choice would be to go for 4p-bonus with either legs or shoulders as a setbreaker (if you are only using 277 loot that is). When talking 264-loot there will be a different story. 4p-bonus will most likely only be superior on fights such as Sindragosa/Lk where they have abilities that you can time the 4p-bonus with (Soul Reaper/breath and whatnot). As for myself, seeing as the Zone buff is at 25% now I will be using alot of 264 gear since you will have plenty of hp anyway and can instead boost your armor to the maximum to reduce your damage taken. I will be going for 4p-bonus with pillars as set breaker, emblem-belt/cloak and bracers from saurfang 10m HC while rest being 277 for EH-set. Otherwise I will be using 4 pieces with shoulders as set breaker and all the other 277 loot available. There is NO way in hell I'm giving up 4p-bonus for a bit more extra stamina.

    Cut it short my ass...

BiS would be leaving out the legs.
But unless you plan on getting all heroic 25m pieces your personal BiS depends on what you have access to.

So there really isn't a set thing, but it would most likely be leaving out the legs since they don't have any extra armor, and non-tier legs have an extra gem slot.

Yepp, people should consider using Pillars of Might as the set breaker even at 277 level. Legguards of Lost Hope results in roughly 458 stamina and Pillars of Might results in 525 stamina after armor have been calculated in to stamina (1 stamina is roughly 11 armor). You lose the defense/hit and some dodge but gains parry. Seeing as threat is no big issue I can do fine w/o the extra hit and EH is by faaaar more worth than avoidence in ICC so the choice for me is a no brainer. 4p-bonus (277) with Pillars of Might as Set Breaker.

I've been also playing around with my alt prot warrior lately, and was wondering which pieces should I get when I only mainly do ICC10 normal.
Is it best to go with t10 shoulders/head and get crafted legs and the other 264 EoF pieces? Or should I get the t10 4 piece anyway? Can't really get sanctified pieces.

Didn't want to make a new thread for this.

Get Pillars of Might it's just far too good for a crafted item.
