if you guys get an item, be it a mount or any other item, just because ya wanna look cool then you should really start looking at yourself and think "is it normal that i need a game to feel special?"

I don't agree with that, People ... "Good" Players, the elites that make me hate 90% of the community on my server because they think they are gods and goddesses for EARNING these mounts will -always- have them first and the longest. Mount's are like armor. It's ALWAYS going to be replaced by the new better looking model that is considered "Harder to get" and it's not going to destroy someones insignificant ePeen to share the mount model they are probably going to retire for the next tier of raid earned mounts.
A good example would be, the ZG mounts. People farm them, big deal. Raiders now have their ice bounds, Iron bound, blood bathed, Invincible etc. At 85, those mounts will mean jack all to them once something like "Armored Twilight Dragons" come out. Sure you have a skeletal dragon and whatever but you've had it, its an "old toy" now.
This whole mount thing reminds me of siblings in the house. Big brother has a toy, younger brother wants it, but his older brother won't even think of giving it to his brother because its "his" he earned it. Even if hes out grown it, he will still hide it and sit on it just because he is being a brat. The -only- mount that I believe should be removed from game is Invincible, because it truly is something worthy of being dubbed "Rare" because if THAT drops out of 25 people, ONE will walk away with it. Not the entire raid.
Because really, those "Achievement" earned mounts aren't special at all. You are sitting on the EXACT model as every other person who beat those achievements, hard or not. No special snowflakes with them. Hell you and 9 to 24 people in your group might have got them at the same time. Not special imo. The only reason I feel mounts like invincible should be removed is because, as time starts to run out for getting that "Special" one, the other members of those hardcore guilds that are dying to have it, will be in here screaming the same thing all the "Casuals" are. Which would be sweet irony.
Because it's a videoGAME you should play it because you have fun, not because you wanna be cooler then the rest, they'll be other challenges and more prestigious rewards in cataclysm, you will prob never use the ulduar drake because you'll be stroking your E-peen with the new mounts you got.
Sure it's weird how they did a complete 180 on the reward mounts, but at the end of the day the people who go back to farm it at max level are probably the ones who won't be able to get the latest meta mount, which all the leet raiderz will get to own first. The only thing I would say is that they should restore the ZA and Naxx mounts in accordance with the new design, but I guess they won't.
Interesting statement about the raidzone buff.
Back to my Plagued Proto Drake it seems, oh boy how happy I am that I got it.
There is lieterally nothing left for the elites, only dates on the achievements. That's not good enough...

Well, is tha intawebz killing mah wow ? The only thing killing the community are stupid questions like this.Is Dungeon Finder killing the community?
Hearing this from Ghostcrawler is probably one of the most encouraging things I've seen from Blizzard in quite some time. After reading Neth's "happy, pink, rainbow farts" view of the community a few days ago, it's nice to see that Blizz is truly aware of the state of the community instead of walking around with horse blinders on.Originally Posted by Blizzard Entertainment
On the mounts topic, good to hear. It's what they should have done with the Amani War Bear.
Thank you for proving the validity of the question.
Kinda ironic tho that this "elitist" are the one that go around all the time telling people how they should play the game, and again I'll say it again if you need a mount in a game to feel like you accomplished something, there's a much much bigger problem in your life, and you shouldnt be worrying about any mounts.

Not trying to bring up arguments now, just asking the understand your viewpoint.
Do people have problems if they highly value accomplishments in their hobbies in general? Is it just games where you limit this? If so, what makes the two fundamentally different?
Yes, sire. May I also offer you a foot massage?
Waaaa! LFG is killing my community! How will people notice me if they're all out getting badges! QQ!
Please, you all asked for it and now you got it. This has become a cartoony action game with a monthly subscription. You want community? Go sign up for match.com.
Mountains rise in the distance stalwart as the stars, fading forever.
Roads ever weaving, soul ever seeking the hunter's mark.
The accomplishment should be for you, you know what you've done and that is enough, you know what you've done and when you've done it, you dont need to go showing off stuff to people, because you and you alone know what you have done, people go around buying invicible mounts off guilds and drakes from ulduar they're worth absolutly nothing, only YOU and YOU alone know what the accomplishement was and how hard or easy it was, so if 100 or 2million people have the mount has no meaning
Sounded like a motivational speech, those never did it for me unless it was Morgan Freedman talking.
I've been there and done that so I can symphatize with someone who gets their satisfaction from exclusivity. It can be seen as greedy and childish (as is wanting everything without putting in effort), but it's also extremely human no matter how equal or politically correct we wish to be. What I don't like the most is the inconsistency of Blizzard's designs and how it seems that their developers are basically telling everyone that if they wish for any exclusivity apart from some dates then they need to keep on playing on the same level. Especially the perfectionists who feel like they need to "complete" their game before they can get off the hook or even step down to more relaxed raiding will just have to keep on playing and playing.
And playing.
