    Worgen vs Goblin

Looking at the beta forums, if you go to the forum index, there are separate forums for Worgen and Goblin feedback and posts. Why does the goblin icon next to its forum look like pretty much what you see in the game and the Worgen icon next to its forum look like a completely different race?

Why does the current Worgen model look nothing like what's been depicted in concept art and other places? Why does it look like a completely different race? What is Blizzard depicting in its art (that's not in game)?

What is going on here? I know it's beta, but why isn't there some gigantic backlash? Just for your information beta groupies, this is your chance to air your disgust. Things won't be changed after retail.

Wow has always had cartoonish graphics not present in concept arts, goblins are kind of like a saturday morning cartoon villain, so shifting them from concept art to wow was easier than worgen, who were werewolves in a dreary and dark place in every piece of art we've seen so far
How much bone could a bonestorm storm if a bonestorm could BOOOOOOOOONESTOOOOOOOOOOOORM!!

What you've said doesn't have anything to do with anything. Shifting from concept art to live shouldn't be something graphically night and day. It shouldn't make you look at your forum icon and go, "what the hell is this thing, a happy-looking cat dog hybrid?"...

What on earth are you on about? The as-we've-seen-them Worgen models look great, and don't really deviate any huge degree more or less from the concept art of any other race.

The fact that 60 people have looked at this thread and not voiced their disgust further proves my point that this expansion is Horde biased; most people play Horde characters now and do not care that there is a blatant disregard for Alliance reciprocity.

You've got Goblins with a gigantic town in Azshara, you leave Worgens with nothing but a battleground in THEIR OWN ZONE... Yeah I think we've figured out that this is a gigantic middle finger to the Alliance. Well I'll tell you one thing, Blizzard won't be getting my money for this expansion. There are some out of control egos running rampant in this company and I am not going to contribute to their obviously drug-fueled ego trips.

That's what you're complaining about? Where anywhere did Blizzard ever promise to you "the new races will 100% match a single piece of concept art that was created over 2 years ago"? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that they didn't. Your perceptions of Horde bias is quite humorous. Neither of the new races are getting a capital city. The Worgen are forced into a tough position because it suits their storyline, there doesn't have to be a 1:1 equivalent on the Horde side. The Horde appears to lose some territory to the Alliance in Cataclysm and there's tons of strife amongst the leaders of the Horde factions (including one being killed, allegedly). Be upset about the game if you must, but good god at least don't arrive to that stance on the shoulders of conspiracy theorist baloney.

Oh, and FYI, I've been primarily an Alliance player since 2004, and I'll be rolling a Worgen on day one of Cataclysm. Already have his name picked out and everything.

Which angers me because it's like the concept art is being ignored.

Deathwing is a good example. I like to think that the current model is a WIP (I'm not talking about just the animations).

Crystalforge armor is another good example.

Arthas's model also bothered me. I understand the exaggeration of the size of his hands and all, but it isn't necessary to make him so "poofy" for the lack of a better description.

There's a way to make something 'cartoony' (for WoW) without it being inaccurate.

I'm wondering where the design changes take place. Something I am glad about with StarCraft II (and Diablo III from what I can tell) is that the concept art is very well matched with the in-game models. So at least I know it's not a problem with the company as a whole.

It's called a work-in-progress, this is still a beta you know.

Go troll somewhere else, not under this bridge.

Taking some logical fallacy and then going to an extreme doesn't make an argument. There is something called a Worgen, it's in the game as we play it. The thing you see on the character creation screen looks nothing like a wolf, looks nothing like a werewolf, looks nothing like a dog, looks nothing like the Worgen that are currently in-game.

My assumption: The old artwork linked to a more dark worgen with a more gloomy backstory then what is currently found in the Beta. They changed the looks accordingly.

Let me ask this, what exactly are you wanting the Worgen to look like, and what about the previews of the current model do you not like? Concept art is just concept art, it's not a guarantee of anything.

You already know the answer. I'm wanting them to look remotely like dogs not ultra-happy smiling felines.

Smiling felines? Either you have some seriously warped expectations or your eyes are broken.

Seriously warped expectations confirmed. Those look nothing like lions, but I see you wisely dropped the "ultra-happy smiling" argument.

EDIT: Let me also say that it seems you're hung up over that one particular facial skin that they've showcased in most of these early images. How about you wait and see what the final array of facial skin choices are before you flip your shit?

If someone told me it was a lion race and I was ignorant of WoW, I am sure I would believe it.

The second one looks like a happy dog, however.
