Arena Win/Loss Ration Question

My friend believes that the amount of games you play and thus the win/loss ratio you have effects the teams you play (high win/loss ratio = better teams), as well as the rate at which you gain and lose rating when you win or lose.

Is there any validity to this belief or is some of it correct or what?

Basically we are a new team and he worries that when we lose, in the end, the loss will make teams harder or slow down our progression somehow because we played more games, even though the loses have lost us 0 points every time.

I say that losing a game and not losing any points means just that and that a 100-0 record is the same as a 100-50 record when the loses take away no rating.

First off, wrong forum, this is Cata PvP not standard PvP.

But ill be nice and answer your question anyway.

Your friend is somewhat right in saying that you will play different teams if you go 100-0 vs 100-50. This is because when you lose games, even though you are losing no team/personal rating, your MMR drops (Matchmaking Rating). Look up MMR and you'll understand what it does, but to put it simply it's a somewhat complex number that ultimately determines who you play.
