    Raid ID extension questions

Hey all, I am a little confused about the raid ID extension.

    *********************************************************

    Player X is in 10man raid A

Raid A downs 10/12 bosses in raid.

    Raids reset.

Player X extends his own Raid ID.

Raid A extends their raid ID.

    ********************

    Situation 1.

    ********************

Player X makes his own raid and heads into the raid instance

    AND

Raid A make their own raid and head into the instance

** what happens in this example? Does the Raid ID split into two new ones? Who gets 'priority' as it were on bosses? Would both raids get the option to "save yourself to this dungeon" because 10/12 bosses were already killed?

    ********************

    Situation 2.

    ********************

Raid A make their own raid and head into the instance, killing one more boss.

    AND

The next day, Player X makes his own raid and heads into the raid instance.

** In this situation, would Player X raid now show 11/12 bosses when asked if wants to save himself to the raid ? If so, could he take his own raid in and down the last boss? Kill 12/12 ? Would that then lock the other raid group out if they tried to go back in again later ?

If multiple players extend the same raid ID they are still saved to the same raid ID. If one of them goes in and clears an extra boss without the others then when the others show up an extra boss is dead when they zone in. You cannot split a raid ID into two separate raid IDs.

Thanks, although a lot of questions still not answered

    No.

If 8 out of the 10 people zone in FIRST to continue the raid with two pugs while 2 of the other people make their own continuation and attempt to enter the zone at the same time with a second 10 man group, you would get the "too many players in instance. instance is full" issue.

No. Because all 10 players who were there for the 10/12 week are saved to that very same 10/12 week. However, if only 8 people returned and 2 were pugged in, who were not there before, the two pugs would get this warning. If TWO raids try to enter the same raid ID at the same time, it simply wouldn't work whatsoever. If they entered hours apart it would simply create a massive cluster of confusion as 20 people are wondering what the hell is going on since they are all saved tot he same instance and each is working separately.

It wouldn't show him "would you like to save yourself to this raid?" because he is ALREADY saved to that raid by extending it with the group. So if others from the group kill a boss, even though he isn't there, his raid will still have that boss show up as dead and he looses the ability to fight it. He doesn't get an option to re-do the 11/12 kill that already occurred in his raid ID.

Yes he could. However, that would be "ninja'ing" a raid lockout. You'd essentially be stealing the 12/12 from the players who got 11/12. Why a group would even extend the lockout while some intended on doing it separately is beyond me.

Yes, it most certainly would. And rest assured, they would not be pleased.

Essentially, all the concerns you have are being addressed in Cataclysm when players get their own INDIVIDUAL Raid ID's, tracking their status and allowing them to continue where they left off with a completely different group. However, as it stands now, it is ONE raid GROUP ID, and anything that anybody does in that Raid ID on their, or with original group members, affects absolutely everybody who extended that lockout.
