Are you asking about when WoW "ends" for the player... or "ends" in general? Cuz, I'm pretty sure the first Everquest still runs servers, lol.

1. Diablo 3 is not 'around the corner.'
2. These games have about as much potential to kill WoW as Warhammer, Age of Conan, and Aion did i.e they WON'T kill WoW. End of story. The ONLY thing that will EVER be able to kill WoW is Blizzard. This is a fact.

WoW will never end - it will evolve. There will be no need for WoW2 since WoW can just have expansions changing graph etc.
Even if the end would come there would be a new good game.
OTOH I play a lot of strategy games, grand strategy, hardcore strategy games: Hearts of Iron, Close Combat, The Operational Art of War, Airborn Assault etc. mostly WW2. (started in early 90s with V for Victory series)

At the moment I'm playing Age of Conan because I feel like WoW is in that "calm before the storm" area atm.
I guess Star Craft will be released before Cata so in about this order I'll play new/other games:
1. Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer.
2. Star Craft.
3. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
4. Diablo III.
5. Star Wars: The Old Republic.

And ofc any other game in between I'd find interesting. But most likely I'll give Blizzard love with their games.

EDIT: Gah! I forgot to say "Dragon Age 2" (origins was the most awesome single player I've played hands down) and probably "Mafia II".
