Had to go with Turalyon. The fact that Tirion didn't simply use his PVP trinket to get out of the ice during the Lich King fight kinda upsets me.... Lazy Paladin...

    Discovery

“Faster, Mirador! I must see it with my own eyes!”

Tirion Fordring, Highlord of the Argent Crusade, leaned forward on his trusted steed. He needed to move faster. Thoughts of what awaited him stirred in his head as he and his contingent of knights burst through the Bulwark. So distracted was he that he didn't notice as his few troops peeled away to attend to the Forsaken pursuers.

He would be in what was left of Lordaeron's Capital City in a matter of hours, and never before had the thought of battle disturbed him as much as it did now. He spurred Mirador on faster as the afternoon's exchange with one of his commanders, Lord Irulon Trueblade, rang through his mind.

“Highlord, we've received disturbing reports from our Forsaken spies in Silverpine.” Irulon placed a stack of intelligence reports on the desk. “The Banshee Queen personally authorized the use of the blight in Gilneas.”

Tirion paced the length of his office in the Argent Crusade's barracks in Hearthglen, lost in thought. Irulon continued, “There have also been rumors of val'kyr in Silverpine, raising new Forsaken.” Tirion shook his head and settled into his chair, exasperated. He shifted through the reports, glancing through each page to confirm what he was being told.

Irulon hesitated, before speaking in low tones. “There is more, Highlord. You won't like it.” Tirion glanced up as his lieutenant spoke, watching the color drain from his face.

    “There has been a sighting.”

    The Lion's Lieutenant

Mirador trotted through the gates and into the ruins of Capital City. Tirion pulled him to the side and dismounted, speaking in quiet tones, “Wait for me in the hills outside. I will come for you soon.” He slapped the horse's flank, and as it galloped off, he slunk into the ruins proper.

Tirion stuck to the western wall, keeping to the shadows where he could. News of his breaking through the Bulwark would've certainly reached the Undercity by now. With the guards on alert, there was no sense in provoking conflict before he could be sure of what was happening. He slipped through a doorway directly across from the gateway to Silvermoon, remembering a small courtyard that he could take refuge in.

Creeping slowly into the area, Tirion found it strangely deserted. This passageway would lead straight into the heart of the Undercity. There should be guards, at the very least. Warily, the Highlord walked into the empty courtyard.

He had hardly stepped away from the doors before they slammed shut behind him. A bright light shone in the sky from the other side of the shattered monument. Within the beacon of light was what appeared to be a val'kyr, but larger; regal in bearing, with wings of holy power and a shroud of light hanging over its visage. Tirion stood transfixed as the angelic being floated down.

He stood for moments, awestruck at the presence of such a being. As the creature landed, Tirion snapped back to himself in time to see a bright light forming between the hands of the translucent being. It began to take the shape of a man, roughly the same height and build as the Highlord. When the silhouette sharpened and the features took final shape, Tirion's heart stopped. Standing before him was none other than General Turalyon himself.

Tirion Fordring, Highlord of the Argent Crusade vs. High General Turalyon, Supreme Commander of the Alliance Expedition

“Turalyon...? How can this be...? What are you doing here...?” Tirion walked forward as if in a daze. He stepped up to Turalyon, “No one has seen you since--” The Highlord was cutoff as Turalyon swung at him. Totally surprised, he reeled from the blow, stumbling back several yards. “Turalyon! What are you doing?!” Tirion shook it off in time to see his fellow Knight of the Silver Hand loose his warhammer. The Highlord reached for Ashbringer, pleading, “Don't do this Turalyon. I don't know what's happening with you. I don't want to fight!” Tirion didn't even notice as the angelic being flew up and backwards into the ruins, the val'kyr's illusion dropping just as it was almost out of sight.

Turalyon's weapon shimmered as the paladin filled it with holy power. Slipping back into a combat stance, his hollow eyes focused on Tirion and struck forward again and again. The swing of his hammer was slow, but each strike was enough to throw Tirion's guard back and force the Highlord back a step. Tirion strained with every strike of his former brother-in-arms, bringing the Ashbringer up only just in time to deflect the Second War-era Alliance warhammer.

Tirion knew he couldn't keep this up forever. Turalyon's strikes began to come faster as the general slipped into a more forward stance. The warhammer slammed into the Ashbringer again, and Tirion rolled with the force, swinging around and bringing the holy weapon up for an overhead strike. As if predicting the Highlord's gambit, Turalyon allowed the weight from the backswing of his hammer to carry him out of the sword's range, falling back into his original stance.

Highlord Fordring took the extra space to assess his opponent. 'How could this be happening...? How has it come to this, fighting Turalyon?' He brought the Ashbringer up into a balanced position. 'How could he attack me like that? The Turalyon I knew wouldn't have done that...' He didn't have time to ponder, as the general rushed forward and brought his off-hand up, firing a bolt of holy power at Tirion. The Highlord had just enough time to dive out of the way before the bolt passed, exploding a column behind where he had just been standing. He came up in a roll as Turalyon rounded the monument, still charging with his hammer.

He couldn't waste any more time and expect to survive. Tirion rushed forward to meet Turalyon head on, using his weapon's superior speed to weave in before the general could strike. Turalyon leapt to the side and kicked off of the monument, dodging the Ashbringer by inches and vaulting over the highlord's head, landing unsteadily a few yards back. The Highlord kept up his relentless attack, knowing that if he dropped the pressure, it would only be a short time before he was on the defensive again.

Tirion pushed forward hard, strike after strike slamming into Turalyon. The warhammer's weight slowed the general down, only allowing him to deflect a few of Tirion's attacks. Ducking and weaving, falling back step after step, even deflecting with his gauntlet wasn't enough. The Ashbringer glowed with each clang on steel, each crushing blow on the general's armor. Turalyon dropped low to avoid a lateral slice, but his weapon threw his balance off in this precarious position. His foot slid back merely an inch, but it was enough.

Tirion's crusading strikes empowered him and the Ashbringer as he went, filling him with holy wrath even as he was forced to fight his paladin brother. Turalyon's misstep was the crippling blow. Harnessing all of the power within him, Tirion swung the Ashbringer down as a final verdict. As the blade fell onto Turalyon, the general burst into a cloud of light. The Highlord shouted in pain as it blinded him and forced him to stumble back.

When he opened his eyes, Tirion was alone again, the courtyard filled only with shards of light, almost like fireflies.

    “Was it...just an illusion...?”

Sentient undead? Are you for real? The undead he fights against all are mindless, and if you talk about those Ymirjar, you mean those being cleaved 3 at once by orcs in the cinematic? Oh right. Hard stuff bro, especially if you have a Light empowered sword.

Turalyon is the one who wins here, merely because he fights real warriors like Tirion, rather then mindless undead wich Tirion faces. He will find an entirely different opponent in Turalyon rather then undead. Whereas Turalyon won't.
There was A LOT of undead though, for every 100 easy to kill cannon fodder troops, there are 20 big guys with some general behind them. The Undead are NOTHING to sneeze at.

turalyon ofcoure, IMO he's the strongest paladin... tirion is a regular paladin with an uber powered sword, turalyong is an uber powered paladin with an ordinary sword.

turalyon shone so bright that the volcano in black rock mountain seemed like a candle, that's the best feat of light a paladin has ever made, if they were to fight turalyon is a better swordsman, the dude took doomhammer down, and 2v1'ed rend and mend.

oh he stomped gorfiend easily, his light was melthing gorfiend, and he slashed gorfiend with a blunt hammer, and in WoD gorfiend without DK powers is already a monster.

turalyon far outclasses tirion in everything swordsmanship, and light. the only thing tirion has against turalyon is his ashbringer.

Wow, you necroed a 5 year old post.

And OT, you said Tirion had Ashbringer as advantage over Turalyon, but it wouldnt work since both are light powered paladins... Ashbringer has its power really shining used against the scourge.
