    Post Ele Shamans, overpowered?

I'm really curious if I'm the only one who thinks that elemental shamans are overpowered in the fact that lava burst is a guaranteed crit. I'm saying this because they hit really hard in pvp, and pve. So what's your thoughts are they overpowered or not?
(this is not a QQ thread, just trying to see how other people feel about ele shamans).

I can't speak much from the pvp perspective, other than that lava burst really does rip through people who aren't sporting any resilience. People in decent pvp oriented gear however, don't go down nearly as easily.

As for pve, I'm in a situation where within our particular setup I come close to topping meters, but I'm one of the best geared (and I'd like to say most skilled) in the guild and we only raid 10-man, so the vast number of buffs that other classes scale better by don't tend to come to bear. I still lose badly to mages, rogues etc though.

    ... yeah, overpowered. Riiiight...

You're propably one of those guys with 0 resilience that met an elemental shaman at BG.

uhh what? it hits hard in pvp? oh comeon.
Yeh sure, 5k is a lot of damage in pvp, but as affliction lock with a felpuppy i really lol at ele shammies. devour magic flame shock and if u manage to even cast it, u hit for like 3k wich i outheal with my dots and drains easly. Only thing that a shammy has to kill me is a thunderstorm, so no, shammies aint op.

ele shamans are one of the most balanced classes in pvp atm.

well in pve they are in a pretty good place right now

and in pvp my mage gets hit for about 4-6k from a nicely geared shammy and when i get flame shocked i use fire ward so the hit actualy dont even break my frost barrier on most occasions

granted if the shammy is smart and purges in the right way i can eat a 5k crit which isnt nice but its not as good as a shatter from me so i cant complain

and lastly shammies have a history of being the most underpowered class there is on many occasions so let them shine a little yeah ?

I play a feral druid, but I'm not saying that I get ripped apart by a shaman. I'm asking you guys do you think it's fair that shamans will ALWAYS crit, which no other class has that (other then rogues with cold blood, but that's talented).

Elemental shamans are fine. Decent PvE damage, and not too shabby in PvP. I mean, if you think they're overpowered in PvP I'll bet you don't have the resilience to consider yourself a serious PvP player.

    Edit:
It's not like they can spam Lava Burst as much as they want. It has a cooldown, but I reckon what you're referring to is the shaman's ability to foresee their damage bursts? In which case a lot of classes are able to do the same, just not from crits.

I play a elem shaman for pve and i feel underpowered I hate finding people with 1200+ resili only criting them for 6k if im lucky It's total bullshit

fail troll is fail... seriously, lava burst part of our class mechanic, and pve wise we are in a very good place right now. If you take away the crit then we become really gimpy...

    no they wont always crit

you have to apply flame shock which is dispellable

It's balanced around it being a 100% crit - if anything that's a bad thing because it devalues crit as a stat.

edit: from a dps perspective, rather than pvp - in pvp the dispellability of flame shock is the achilles heel of lava burst.

Nvm this was a pointless thread, the only people responding to this are ele shamans who are ofcourse not going to say they're overpowered...
