a few weeks ago i started seriously collecting mounts and today i noticed something "interesting" about the reward for this 100 mount achievement. though it is a very cool mount, be it blue for alli or red for horde, i was wondering:

why is its speed only 280%?

i realize it is very possible to have completed this achievement without getting a 310% speed mount, but really, im pretty sure going out of ur way to collect 100 mounts is more then enough to earn a 310%, i mean, lets name the ways off the tops of our heads to get a 310% speed:

gladiator mounts- hardcore arena pvp
violet proto- for holiday achievement whores like myself
uld proto mounts- too lazy to confirm if that one is 310, but not the point
kael's phoenix- low drop rate from raid boss
invincible- H LK 25 100% drop, but really...the difficulty is the issue
mimirons head- hard mode yogg 25
onyxian drake- very low onyxia drop
love rocket- very low drop rate from love is in the air boss

they've got to make some other ways to get 310s without hardcore pvp er raiding

can anyone give me a good reason why this mount shouldnt be 310%?

yea it should be 310% I would ride it more often, 100 mounts is harder than the holiday achieves imo

that is pretty much the only reason i gave up on trying for it, got up to 65

if you really want a 310% mount though, the ulduar hardmode proto drake is easy, I got a couple of guildies together, some who hadn't even seen ulduar, and we cleared it

310 speed is trainable in Cataclysm.

ill give you a reason, 2 actually.
1. not many will have it
2. they are making all mounts 310 if you have it in cata/training.

so even though i understand its annoying its still cool

eh it just reminds me of how lazy i am. im 5 mounts off my 100 yet im too lazy to finish grinding them from the tournament >.>

Still after spending the tons of gold to get your 100 mounts it would be nice to save the 5k gold and not have to train to get 310.

yea, i got the violet proto from the holiday meta and now i just use the celestial steed since...well...its easier to park a horse on top of a cliff when ur farming ore than a giant dragon

it should be 310, but at this point who cares? it will be a 310 soon.

I got this achievement, I was all excited to get that new mount. I had no idea what it would be. I WAS SO EXCITED! Rushing to the mail box I tore out the letter. Opened it up poured the large mount out of the tiny envelop only to find a dragonhawk... A rather bleah red dragonhawk that isn't even a 310% speed mount.

So much time spent grinding rep to buy the faction mounts of Sky Guard, countless pugs into AQ40 for bugs that auto dismount when combat is detected and you can only use them in that instance. So much gold grinding to buy the mounts from vendors. Countless runs in instances and other raids trying to get those rare mounts.

And all I get is a freaking piece of crap mount! I threw the letter upon the ground and flung my arms towards the sky as I howled in rage! BLIZZARD!!!!!! HEAR MY WORDS!!! ONE DAY I WILL COME FOR YOU! AND I WILL FEED YOU THIS PIECE OF CRAP MOUNT!

Uld proto-drakes are 310% and the love rocket only matches ur top speed flyer, not 310%
