Blizzard Appreciation

Is it me, or is Blizzard a really freaking good game designer? They make great games and seem to be really active with the community and care about what they want. When it comes to WoW, I really agree with a lot of their philosophies on how the game should work and feel. I'm not a Blizzard employee or anything, in case you're wondering. It's just that after playing Diablo 2 for most of my High School years, then WoW for almost two and now getting into Warcraft III, I have to say they really do go through a lot of effort to make some really damn good games.

I use to be a hardcore SquareEnix fan for years. I played Final Fantasy XI for 4 years and all SE did was let me down time and time again. I saw more advancement and "fixing" in my first year of WoW, than I did in 4 years of FFXI. Maybe what I'm comparing too might make me, I don't know... bias or something.

Anyone else out there feel the same? I wanted to post this on the official board, but I didn't want suckle thine teet too hard.

I do so love Blizzard, I think they're probably my favorite, because not only do they make great games, but they do get involved, they have a huuuuge fanbase, they have great humor when it comes to their games and just their staff and developers in general, and you can't beat their support, I mean some people might argue it isn't helpful at times, but I think its amazing. They're just super involved with their community as a whole and I think that makes them great.

alot of people complain about WoW but still they play it day in day out. personally, i like where the game is at the moment, and during its EU history, i've always been happy with it.

I'd certainly rate blizzard as a good games designer.

Blizzard's a good corp, but they need to listen more to community opinions. Ghostcrawler saying "I'm wearing a Blizz hat and I'm telling you why we're doing the right thing now" isn't the solution to class balance problems.

I really wish Ubisoft didn't heavily depend on their DRM Authentication system....it causes so many problems.

I agree, I think Blizzard is one of the more devoted game developers to their community. They take a lot of time to produce a product that is relatively seamless, and doesn't push it out of the door for the sake of profit building (and in the end makes considerably more profit because of it).

Blizzard is great i first started playing warcraft 3 which is just as fun today as it was the first time i played through the campaigns.

As i finished TFT i got WC2 and the expansion, i loved it also. Then i moved over to diablo and i once again loved the game and how smashing a dempn made you feel good inside you

WoW is a great game also, but its a little boring and easy now with WOTLK hope that will change in cata

and now with sc2 out (i never got to play sc1 ;( ) i do have a even greater respect for blizz

I love Blizzard's RTS games, my favorite game in the world is still Warcraft 2. I just hope that they up the difficulty of WoW in Cata, then I will come back to WoW, WotLK was just dull due to the simplicity of it/I just didn't like much of the raids.

Yes, Blizz is one damn good company. My slightest qualm was that WotLK was yeah, a bit boring, but it was still consistently more fun than I had playing any other console or PC game. (I'm not speaking for everyone, rather, just from my own experience). The RTS' are super fantastic as well, in addition to the map editors which are easy to use and simply awesome.

Blizzard is awesomeauce. Even with changes that seem too radical or silly or dumb at announcement, they always manage to make things fun and awesome.
