    Paying the poor

Looking how cataclysm is going it seems that if the npcs arent fighting in the war their poor and homeless so how bout a way to fix some of this and get some rep grinding from it and make it a fun way to gather money to help the economy in the game.
    here my idea:
Giving money to poor and you can choose how much to give and it'll give rep and maybe there could be a effect if blizzard wanted to make things cool like if you give enough money to a poor guy and he'll buy supplies to build a house that was burnt down or they can build a flight path or different things cause phasing is gonna take a big part in the game and doing this can make places that are covered in broken houses and knocked down tents to look alot better.

Could even take it further and say sometimes you can pay a guy money and he'll hire mercenary's to go take back his farm, house or other things.

Just saying a idea i thought of while playing the PTR and i thought it could be cool to help the rough economy in the game.

No, there's no reason for it to be implemented and it does next to nothing.

Isn't that just a less interested version of the phasing system? do quests to help/harm people or places. but maybe I'm misinterpreting something.

I mean pay a npc money in the game and hell repair broken houses, tents, seige weapons, and crap like that thats scattered through the game.

and all that does is try to take money out of the players pocket for no reason other than making azeroth look 'nicer'

What about an npc that if you pay him 9,567g 31s and 45c he will fly you to the moon, wherein exists an endless supply of chocolate pudding.

This idea is for people that want to actually think there accomplishing something in the game..to make things from shitty to better and it would give a motive to people that don't want to go grind money and its just a idea you don't have to talk down to me just cause you don't like it.

It's not well thought out and not conducive to the mentality of the vast majority of gamers. Nobody in this thread posted about you, everyone posted about your idea.

He gave his reasoning for it; decrease inflation and increase immersion. Did you read his post? At all?

I did read it, and I think if he wants to increase immersion, he should be asking for them to improve raids and quests.

"lets put in a system that allows players to buy rep"

"why would you want to do that? that's silly. rep should be a reward for hard work, not writing a check to some NPC"

    "oh.....yeah i guess so."

But how many people would really pay for this when they could use the gold on gear and vanity items? It wouldn't decrease inflation to any reasonable amount unless the rewards for shelling out tons of money were significantly helpful things, such as current raid tier level epics, or more slots for the base backpack, or even neat vanity items. Random, barely helpful phasing changes wouldn't work.

Not sure what you're smoking. Whatever it is it's clearly stronger than what I'm smoking.

I'm poor, and I agree with this. Too a point, but thats for another thread.

OT: I don't think this would go over well. Rep is easy enough to get, and paying for rep is just...well stupid.

You mean like RL "high society", who give out one evening per month and about 0.0001% of their wealth to the poor and needy, so that they can feel righteous?
But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.

Just think about how far blizzard took archeology as a version of chocobo hot and cold from final fantasy and i know if they took some time they could turn this idea into something awesome and maybe end up getting vanity items like the mule mount or something.

I'd quest to help a guy gather supplies to help rebuild his house, but straight paying him for it is boring. ): I don't exactly like the idea of buying reputation for that reason alone.

I like the idea, but I don't think most people would.

No offence, but i would rather do a quest that gives me some kind of lore, or something interesting; rather than simply paying gold to get the same result.
