I can't tell exactly but it looks like the mana cost was reduced, or these characters have more mana than the previous videos, seeing as it takes only about 8% of their mana pool.

This new animation is amazing, and especially for the following reasons:

• The target is now pulled instead of teleported, so she/he may have a chance to have an idea about where she/he is.
• There's wings on the target, so that the target knows that it just got Leap of Faith.
• There's an animation between caster and target, so the target knows the direction he/she is going.

And something I want to quote, is a discussion between Ultima + Jeina and me talking about pull vs. teleport. Ultima pretty much called me fail for suggesting that it should be a pull instead.

Okay guys, calm down. Let's think about this.

It doesn't look as nice as having them fly toward you, but I'm glad it doesn't do that. Instant teleport is a lot more practical. I want my target at me the second I press it. I want to make my target LoS'd straight away.

As for the animation, I presume they are just using the Death Grip "arm" in beta. I want a golden "holy" arm. That's how I've been imagining it.

Ultima, if we have to think practically it is probably the worst idea. If the gripped target doesn't know your location (which he/she probably won't in most encounters) then the player will be confused a lot! Imagine fighting a boss and wupti you're somwhere else. It will definitly make other players a lot more angry. It would give a lot more view if the target was gripped to you like with Death Grip with withdrawing animation.

First off, any good raid member is aware of where the rest of the raid is/should be. If getting pulled 30 yards backwards confuses you, you should probably not be raiding. Even getting teleported and facing the wrong direction it should take you a maximum of .8 seconds to figure out where you are and which way back to the boss.

Secondly, as far as the animation is concerned: Blizzard can't make it so it pleases everyone. A lot of you are going to be very disappointed. Mostly because you built it up in your minds to be completely awesome looking. And now that it doesn't meet your expectations, you blame Blizzard. It's YOUR fault for getting so worked up about it. YOUR fault for imagining it being so awesome.

Everyone complains about homogenization and then complain when their ability doesn't look anything like an ability with similar mechanics.

You might know where your raid is, but you won't know where the Priests is, and if you do, then you won't know if he/she moved away or something. You don't know when the pull will happen, so you will of course be surprised 100% when your screen changes and suddenly everything in front of us in gone and now there's a Priest instead. There's no players who will prefer that over a fast pull where you see where you go. Well, perhaps you, but why would you prefer that?

My massive post which shot down iLive timed out and I'm not doing that again. Basically, we're right and you're wrong. You are unable to see the benefits of utilizing a great spell, feel free to fail.

An example of a spell which is great and apparently fail in your view; Hand of Protection "WTF Y CNT I ATTK??".

I fail to see where I fucked up in this? It's still an instant cast. All they have done is added wings to show the player what's happened to them. If they need to cater to people with poor eye sight, so be it!

I don't see how you think small white wings make it easier to see where you are being pulled to rather than a massive purple (or holy yellow, which it should have been) arm reaching at you.

I didn't want him to look stupid, but when he wrote that message I felt really offended. I am trying to explain the benefits of teleport vs. pull, and then in the middle of the discussion he says that I am wrong and he is right, like he is some kind of authority. Me then quoting what he wrote about me after they finalized the spell, is just an attempt to show him there's other people than him in this world.

I'll start with the former though. I have no real authority over you. To make an English comparison, Moderators are the "plastic police" while the Administators are the actual police force. (Plastic Police are a type of part-time/volunteer service. They do not have the authority to arrest you, but they patrol the streets and can "detain" trouble makers. The Police then review the incident and decide how to act on it)

For the latter part, the one which I am interested in, I still think Teleport > Pull, my reasons are (hopefully) stated above. It's still an almost instant cast/teleport though, so I don't have a real problem with it (little disappointed, but I will make do for the community - see above). I’ve never said that you were an authority because of your title as moderator. I do not look upon people’s amount of posts, their titles etc. I would react in the same way no matter who the person would be. Why would you even think that?

You think my idea with pull is trash, but as soon as Blizzard changes it, it's ok? I am not against you for having a different opinion, but using "you are wrong and I'm right, you fail" as an argument, yes I have a lot against that. And if it's because it's faster, just so you know, we never went into details (since you began to trash me), but that would be obvious anyway.
