Holy - Are you collecting plate for Cata?

Or will you just run and level with all of the mail, leather, cloth, etc...?

Which pieces would you pick up? Would you bother reforging some of the plate you haven't picked up because of the less than stellar itemization? (the belt off lootship or the leggings of dying candles, for example)

Considering how many of our BiS pieces aren't plate at the end of this expansion, would throwing plate on when it's time to level make much of a difference with the mastery bonus?

    Thank you all!

Well seeing as you will be replacing most of the gear very early on in Cataclysm, wasting time farming it doesn't seem to have much point.

Not at all. The +5% int makes difference only at end game. Normal dungeons aren't THAT hard that 5% int matters. And you won't be doing so many instances while leveling, because:
    1) you have to first discover them (that said, the queues will be longer)
    2) questing seems more effective 80-85

At this point in the game, unless you are taking a break from raiding (which I'm not), the pieces in question are still going to drop and likely get DE'd.... so why not?

luckily i kept all my plate peices anyway as the 5% stats combined with kings buff do make up a good chunk of int but its not the end of the world if you dont get the bonus.

I picked up all the plate to look pretty anyway. I'm so very glad I did.
I have eaten all the popcorn, I left none for anyone else.

Picking it all up as no-one really needs any of it for off spec or anything any-more.

I'm definitely thinking about it. 1k + haste is more than enough anyways, a crit/mp5 piece or two won't leave you wiping in the last couple weeks of ICC.
Besides, who still in the Wotlk mindset doesn't want to see 43k+ mana unbuffed? E-peen much!

I've stopped raiding until cataclysm is out. Will be using the set I had gathered until now.

It's not too hard, especially for Paladins. Just take a tour on your Epic Flying Mount over to the Instance portal with Crusader Aura on, and then you don't have to go back again.
I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.

Hmm, never wore anything else than plate and the occasional mail belt/boots. So no change here.

Also - wearing all plate makes me feel tough!

Wouldn't be possible anyways as some of the 83+ dungeons require questing gear and can not be completed in WotLK gear. Ppl QQ'd on the Beta forums about how tough some of them are and Blizzard said it was because they were trying to do it in ICC gear.

As said earlier in this post, I dont think we will need to replace our non-plate items immediately as rewards from questing (80 - 85) will undoubtably be upgrades at some stage (not to mention dungeon items).

Interesting to note that the plate healing gear from the Twilight bosses in the next pre-cata event (Girdle of Oblation) has spirit on them already though...

I was planning to sit in Shattrath laughing as the World Servers crashed around me, queuing my way to 85. Such disappointment

That pretty much implies that we'll have the new stats/talents system by the time that part of the event starts. Yay!
