I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this yet but this event would be a great way to kill those gold spammers that hangs out in Stormwind and Orgimmar. But mass elemental slaughter and 3 fps seems like a plus too.

Thunder Bluff has a similar invasion, though it's water and air elementals there. For the Alliance the two cities invaded are Ironforge (Fire, Earth) and Stormwind (Water, Air). Defeating the invasions will make the appropriate elemental bosses available for queuing in the dungeon finder for a few hours for everyone on the server of the same faction, regardless of whether they helped beat back the invasion.

if i'm not wrong clearing OG unlock 2 bosses, and TB, 2 others bosses
usually 99% of the players are in OG :/ and when OG is cleaned, they try the bosses

I'm still confused on what Part 2 of the prologue was. People are saying it was the Doomsayers. Do they mean the Doomsayer chains in Stormwind that are on the PTR? Did that ever go live?
