The stats page displays total lifetime emblems aquired, not the amount you currently hold.

I think I have accuired around 3000 total. I am not sure and it might be 500 more.

Nevermind, just found out, Character, it's right there >>
So:
Heroism - 3075
Valor - 2252
Conquest - 1490
Triumph - 392
Frost - 630
To be honest, I'm pretty sure it adds up to that list everytime you changed Frost to triumph to conquest to valor to Heroism. So yeah, your total of 13k is most likely wrong.

ye, i raided alot of naxx25 back in the day :P Don't know if the triumph is right tho :S i think i aquired atleast 600 of those, from all the HC's etc ahwell total is 3500 or so

I can confirm that any emblem you converted down is added to your total acquired for that type. My rogue was leveled to 80 late in WotLK, after valor/heroism were no longer available, but I have 180 of each of those, which is exactly the amount of triumphs I converted down to get some heirlooms.
