Ok, lets make bets on what time the realms will actually go live going by the 12:01 pm given time . My guess is 5:30-6 pm at best followed by multiple battle groups going down for hours ...followed by all realms going down for a while ...followed by rolling restarts later in the night ...what's your guess ?

So, all players will be connecting at once so theres going to be some trouble me thinks - MMO-Champion will be keeping us updated.

My guess is 02:40 Meaning -> Stable servers/realms.
Don't forget it's going to be midnight and that lot's of people will be sleeping etc xD

I predict that they will extend maintenance from 12 to around 3.. then again from three until 5.. then realms will slowly start to come up around 5:30 ish... however i predict a handful of realms will stay down for a full day or two.

not to mention the emergency downtime we will have to go through because blizzard will need to fix some bug one of the classes has that is causing them to do 100k damage and stuff.

3.0 was delayed about 8-10 hours. Expect more of the same. But honestly, big deal. This is probably the biggest patch to ever hit WoW, if it takes some time I'd rather they get it right then screw around for a few hours.

My buddy and I were talking about this and made guesses on when they'd come back up. Right now I said 8:00pm EST and he is guessing 7:00pm EST (In case you can't keep up, that would be 5:00pm and 4:00pm respectively). Also betting that there will be rolling restarts etc, so who knows when they'll actually be fully playable.

It's pretty much assumed whenever a huge patch like this goes live that there are going to be server issues that will make it pretty much unplayable for the first 24 hours or so. It always boggles my mind that people still haven't learned this yet.

It boggles the mind what kind of server problems we'll have when 4.0.3 (Cataclysm) hits the shelves. A talent revamp with UI changes along with other minor stuff is nothing compared to the revamp of the entire game world along with the countless players who will be online or returning to WoW on that hellish day.
