Requesting Insight on Prot Leveling

Okay, so my Warrior is currently 29. I'm interested as leveling as Prot using the Dungeon Finder, but I'm unsure what rage generation and threat will be like after 4.0.1 drops.

My main question is: To anyone here who leveled as Prot on the PTR/Beta, how is low level Rage generation? How necessary is Shield Specialization? Revenge at 40 is sadface, do you glyph the crap out of sunder and use it for your threat gen?

I didn't take Toughness as my filler at this level because I'm still in Mail and the extra armor won't be necessary until much later, and I intend to spec into it later or use those points to get further down the tree if there's any dead tiers.
