    New computer

Hi, just wondering if I can get some opinions / suggestions on alterations that I could / need to make (and if somebody has some random spare time a compatibility check would be great, while it all seems compatible I'm still pretty new to the comp building scene) on a computer I'm hopefully going to put together in the coming days,

    PSU - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 8MB L3 Cache 125W Retail Box Processor: £126.25
MOBO - ASUS M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G Socket AM3 DVI VGA Out 8 CHannel Audio MATX Motherboard: £41.93
GPU - XFX 5850 1GB DDR5 Dual DVI HDMI Display Port Out PCI-E Graphics Card: £205.99
    RAM - Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz HyperX Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-27) 1.7 - 1.9V: £73.95
    PSU - Coolermaster GX 650W PSU - 6x SATA 2x PCI-E 80plus Certified: £59.93
    HDD - Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache: £42.99
Optical disk drive - Samsung SH-S223L 22x DVD±RW DL & RAM with LightScribe SATA Optical Drive - Retail Box Black: £15.98
Case - Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two Black ATX Case - No PSU: £82.13

    Total: £649.16

    Thanks,
    Kibo

Ps, is everything I will need in there (other then the os, already have w7 sorted to put on it)

everything appears fine and should all work together fine, i would recommend waiting to buy a graphics card at this point though.

if you need one, buy a 5770 and wait for the 6xxx series to come out, sell the 5770 and buy a 6xxx series. they are better than the 5850's even on the low end of the spectrum

Yes, it will all work together. Only thing I would suggest at the moment (other than waiting for the 6000 series to come out) would be to get a different power supply. It's not that what you have picked won't work, it's just that the GX line of power supplies from coolermaster aren't that great and you could get a much better unit for your money from another brand, like Corsair or Antec.

Any idea how major the difference between a 5850 and a 6xxx will be? Major enough to pay the extra because no doubt the price will be pretty high upon release, as well as taking a loss on a temp 5770?

Thanks nej, i would normally stick with corsair, tbh i have no idea why i decided to include the coolmaster instead

    Thanks

    Why the Matx motherboard?

The 760g is a pretty feature less system. It will work fine but I personally would go with a full atx board that has more over clocking features so that you can eek a few more months out of it in a few years when the technology starts to age. If money is really tight I would drop the video card down a notch and get an 870 based board (go 880g if you need mAtx for your case).

The 5850 is more than overkill for wow. Wow won't come close to utilizing the gpu power of that card. And AMD is releasing the HD6xxx series of cards next week so I would hold on a bit and see what comes with that.

Video is a Palit GTS450. Main display is a 24" full HD TV. Secondary display is an ACER 19" lcd at 1440x900.

AMD is releasing the first of their 6xxx brand October 22nd apparently, the 6850 and 6870. Better performance than the 5770, GTX 460, and 5830, but not quite up to par to 5850 and 5870. The 5770 will already run WoW fine, just wait and get either the 6850 or 6870.
