    I agree. They're decent.

Check out Pixie Lott and The Saturdays too, if you're still looking.

    Muse.

Perhaps not the "british sound" you may be looking for, but no doubt my #1 british band.

    Hysteria - fucking bass
Plug In Baby - that intro <3
Map of the Problematique - that epic feeling

Live videos because I just happened to watch them.

Oh yeah, to also recommend something in the genres OP asked for; I've occasionally enjoyed listening to The Fratellis.

Flathead is quite a fun track, Chelsea Dagger is great too.

Cant also ignore that wich was voted best guitar riff of 2000's, Plug In Baby, and one of the runner ups Knight's of Cydonia is king like (cwatididthar?)

And if I may say so the guitar riff in New Born is pretty dam awesome too.

Surprised we got this far and no one mentioned Biffy Clyro, i fuckin hate them with a passion, but they seem to still be going over huge at the minute. (for all i hate their music, their lead singer is actually quite a pleasant chap to speak to despite me telling him i didn't like his music) I still enjoy the occasional bit of David Gray, James Morrison & Amy MacDonald probably a bit too poppy for you but good voices none the less.

Pixie Lott & The Saturdays well, they're good on mute for me
