The masses are suppose to believe Bolvar Fordragon died with the Lich King and ultimately was betrayed by the Horde. It makes perfect sense for the Alliance to have "For Bolvar!" or a shout that has something to do with him. During vanilla, I ( and many others ) considered him to be the closest thing to a king for Stormwind his death at the hand of the Forsaken should be a very pivotal and controversial issue.
In my opinion Forsaken haven't payed enough for their treason . Do to recent events of the Undead invasion of Gilneas, and Sylvanas's desecration of the dead into undead. The whole Human empire, Paladins (Bolvar), Argent Dawn, and Allies should be Pissed! Considering we just spent the last year in Northrend killing Arthas for making undead, what makes Sylvanas different? We shouldn't rest till we have reconquered Stormgarde and have Lordaeron surrounded on all fronts. Then Alliance should have a Badass quest to kill Sylvanas.

I'm a horde player and I agree :P
as long as both factions can see it, maybe horde players have to try and defend sylvanas, or maybe help koltira/darion after darion finds out what sylvanas has done to koltira, then it could be a neutral quest :P
(I still think it was actually sylvanas who ordered the attack)

I could imagine her death:
Sylvanas: "I AM THE BANSHEE QUEEN! I AM THE GREATEST! I AM INVINCIBLE!"
Koltira/darion: "No. In death, all are equal"
Sylvanas: "NOO!" *dies*
then koltira/darion becomes the ruler of the forsaken, and all are happy

The original one was "AH! LIONS!", and wasn't so much of a battle shout as a sign to run. As lions were driven out of the civilized areas however, it slowly changed to "Alliance!". That's also why they have a lion on their faction seal, it's to show that they now dominate the lions and not the other way around.

Bolvar is a good example for a "hero" but he did what he did for everyone's sake. He was more than willing to fight alongside the Horde, and was gobsmacked when Saurfang junior got cut down. His potential rescue was considered the last "real" chance of peace between the Alliance and Horde.

Using him as your scapegoat against the Horde is pretty dim. This is one of the reasons they gave you King Conan as a dynamic Alliance toon instead, why not use him?

imo alliance battleshout of "garrosh suxors" works for me, my orc would just look at the other orcs, shrug, and say "they are right" and walk away.

It will make some players wonder, wtf is Bolvar/Lothar. They were real hearoes, nuff' said, but it has to be more... general. I believe Alliance has to cease to exist. And to be reformed into Empire; then, they could shout "FOR THE EMPEROR!!!", and that would be fucking epic. That would be a Warhammer rip-off, but that would be epic. Just magine; instead of blue and gold and a lion on a crest, they could have grey, black, and a wolf. That alone would increase the badass factor by over 9000%.

the horde is one organisation run with a single ruler and a few advisors, the advisors say what is best, but eventually it's all down to the warchief

the alliance is a loose group of nations, they each have their own ruler and those rulers together act as a council, varian has the most power, but if any of the other leaders disagrees, none of them will do anything until they are all in agreement, or at least until the majority is

the horde have ONE battlecry unless the battle is specifically for one or 2 races
eg, it's normally FOR THE HORDE, but it's occasionally:
Orc: LOKTAR OGAR!/ BLOOD AND THUNDER/ FOR THE HORDE!
Forsaken: FOR OUR DARK LADY!/FOR SYLVANAS!
Trolls: FOR SENJIN!
Tauren: MOOOOOO! (ok ok, FOR CAIRNE!/ FOR THE SPIRITS!)
Blood elves:GLORY TO THE SINDOREI!/ FOR THE SUNWELL!
Goblins: I BETTER BE GETTING PAID FOR THIS!

the alliance are their own countries, so they don't have a unified one, if they did it would most likely be GLORY TO THE ALLIANCE, but each race prefers to use their own shout

human: FOR THE ALLIANCE/FOR LORDAERON!
dwarf: FOR KHAZ MODAN!
gnome: FOR GNOMEREGAN!
Nelfs: FOR ELUNE!/FOR CENARIUS (depending on personal allegiances, druids/priests)
Draenei: not a clue, it may be FOR THE NAARU, or may be THE LEGION IS AT IT'S END! (or maybe, FOR VELEN!)
Worgen: FOR GILNEAS/THE BANSHEE QUEEN WILL FALL!

(alternatively, FOR THE WHORES! WE'LL KEEP TRYING! HAVE MERCY! RUUUUNNNNN! SIT! (if fighting worgen) FOR PONY! FOR THE [enemy faction]!)

A simple "For the Alliance!" makes the most sense to me. Citing specific events and characters might sound nice while we are all here geeking out, but it needs to be something instantly recognizable to someone with only a vague understanding of Warcraft lore. "For Bolvar!" for example doesn't really have meaning to someone who joins up after Cataclysm.

You stole my idea. (I posted this battlecry in the other topic)

Anyway I obviously support this idea.
Bolvar is the one man that ties all races together. No single alliance race hated/disliked him.
He stood for honor and glory. He held SW togehter in absence of Varian. He led the expedition into northrend.
He was a mighty paladin. Strong enough to survive the LK torturing even.
His death also symbolisez the hatred that most alliance have agaisnt the horde in general.

So.....as a proud member of the alliance I yell: FOR BOLVAR!
