    Mind Flay question

    While it's been a long time since I played a Spriest, I do remember there was an issue with Mind Flay doing it's damage unevenly. As a result it was very easy to clip one Mind Flay with a second if you didn't use a macro. Does this problem still exist?

    You can clip Mindflay if you don't time it right, or your latency is bad,
    Not sure what you mean about uneven damage though

    I'm not 100% clued up on it, but i've heard the no-clip macro can cause more problems then it solves

    The only thing you waste now from clipping Mind Flay with itself is mana. Because it acts like a channeled DoT now, tick times remain static. However, any other spell will still interrupt Mind Flay mid cast, which is still very latency dependent.

    What you remember of Mind Flay doing damage "Unevenly" is that the server-client latency comes into effect here, where halfway through your client's cast, you decide to try to clip Mind Flay, timing it perfectly for that second tick. The problem is, when you tell the game to clip it, by the time the server gets the signal, you've either done it too early and lost damage, or too late and had dead-air time. That's still around.

    It's generally not worth it to clip Mind Flay, no matter what an addon tells you.
