I am a female and I roll characters of both genders. It completely depends on how I view that particular race+class combo, and my sense of the character's personality, even though I do not RP at all.

For example, I have female: draenei shaman, night elf druid, night elf hunter, draenei paladin; male: troll mage, night elf priest, worgen rogue (WILL be male, so I'm counting him), worgen warrior (same story), night elf death knight (my current main). So, a pretty even split.

In 'general,' though, the following are my sex choices by race:

Horde:
Troll- Male
Undead- Male
Tauren- Female
Orc- Female
Blood Elf- Male
Goblin- Female

Alliance:
Night Elf: Female
Draenei: Female
Human: Female
Dwarf: Male
Gnome: Female
Worgen: Male

I will state here and now that Alliance are skewed female largely because I find the 'old' male models to be ugly, and alliance has a higher margin of bulky, blocky males than Horde, surprisingly.

Female and you like Firefly.

However, I do enjoy people automatically assuming I'm female (irl) when on a female toon and begin hitting on me constantly. That's always entertaining.

I roll whatever I feel like rolling whether it be male or female. The two characters I play the most are a FEMALE human mage and a MALE orc warrior. It's interesting though that the majority of my alliance characters are female and most of my horde characters (I think with the exception of my BEs) are male.

I'd also like to add that when you play as a female toon, you're treated better.

Whether this is large or small, it's still something worth noting.

So 80% of my 80s are female.

Let's look at some of my other characters. I have at least one level 60+ of each class.

Ok, 80% of those characters are also female.

So basically, I play male and female characters with an approximate 4/1 ratio in favour of female characters.

I've noticed that some people broke down the races and what they prefer so here goes for me.

Human: Female mostly
Dwarf: Female and Male equally
Gnome: Female exclusively
Night Elf: Female exclusively
Draenei: Female mostly
Worgen: Male exclusively unless they fix the face of the female, then female exclusively

Orc: Male and Female equally
Troll: Male mostly
Tauren: Male mostly
Undead: I don't play undead
Blood Elf: Female mostly
Goblin: Female exclusively
