Also you DO NOT feed your family with in game gold, just spend it peacefully if u want to buy something that wont be obtainable in cata etc. dunno what else to say
I understand the thing "i dont wanna go bellow this" but on what are you planing to spend it than? At least go buy spectral tiger for 250kg and there you go =)

Atm im on a 780k gold amouth spread of 12 level 80's all with 5900 GS, will i be able to even quest in the new zones now the mobs will be stronger?

i currently have 500g and ow my mate 1000g which i will pay back b4 cata, u need enough gold for repairs, and can farm mats for the rest
