So, apparently Zalashji has done nothing since Vanilla and will be gone in Cata. So I asked a GM about this:

Zalashji
Gender Male
Race Naga (Humanoid)
Level 45

Reaction Alliance Horde
Location Zalashji's Den, Tanaris
Zalashji is a level 45 friendly naga who roams in and out of his dwelling, Zalashji's Den in Tanaris. [67, 32] Zalashji has no affiliation or function in the game so far.
But this is what a GM I asked a question about:
You may say that GMs know nothing but the ticket had been escalated and a blue post says that escalated tickets are passed onto a specialist GMs. Make of this what you will.
Will we find out before he leaves in Cata?

I would put very little weight on what a GM says about a quest npc like Zalashji. I've known a couple of GMs from over the years and they're known to pull jokes like this as a way to relieve stress.
EDIT: I remember the drama over the Ashbringer and all the GM replies from that, too. Several screenshots of GMs telling players that it could be obtained, that will be obtainable with TBC, that the Gnome with in Tanaris was part of the quest chain to get it. Fun fact.... Zalashji was mentioned in one of those GM replies. Blizzard has since openly announced that Ashbringer will not be obtainable.Last edited by skyesfury; 2010-10-30 at 10:57 PM.

Its not true. Zalashji is a part of quest starting underwater in Azshara. You must be exalted with hydraxian waterlords and have grand marshal / warlord title. As a ghost you can find area with water elementals spirits fighting in some sort of arena. They start a quest leading to Zalashji. This has been confirmed by 2 GMs and Alex Afrasiabi.
I think i will create new thread about it myself.
In case you were off to Azshara - i was merely sarcastic.
Oh well, at least spam will leave the main threadI have enough of EA ruining great franchises and studios, forcing DRM and Origin on their games, releasing incomplete games only to sell day-1 DLCs or spill dozens of DLCs, and then saying it, and microtransactions, is what players want, stopping players from giving EA games poor reviews, as well as deflecting complaints with cheap PR tricks.
I'm not going to buy any game by EA as long as they continue those practices.
