I put DS on my + num pad key simply because it's got basically no use unless I know there's someone stealthing about, but even then I have no HP with which to use DS to bring them out of it until they attack. You should also just take consecration off your ret bars because it doesn't really do anything now either, and contrary to popular belief, will not pull someone out of stealth.

Judgement USED to be the hardest hitting spell we had; now it's one of the least hard hitting spells. It's good for long arm of the law, regaining mana, and 'filling' in for extra damage (meaning you don't have 3 HP, your CS is on CD, and you need to be doing damage).

I suggest avoiding using Avenging Wrath around mages priests and warriors for some pretty simple reasons: they can remove it or make it useless. A decent mage will simply spell steal it, leaving you vulnerable, a priest can dispel it (and an spriest, no matter how great your gear, is going to eat you up with dots and LOL on your corpse), and a decent warrior will simply stun you and put some decent damage on you and kill you. Unless they suck, go for it.

Your MS is tank and if that's the ring you're using then what you have is fine until you can get something better to replace it for PvP . Since it costs 200g to switch I suggest not doing that!

I also suggest just going with relentless, don't worry over wrathful. We're close enough to Cata that you can farm the BGs for a full set within a few days, since you're just going to be tossing it in less than a month anyway.

If you want to get some honor fast, do WG every two hours (extra bonus if your server is prone to winning), and queue for random BGs and your Call to Arms, rather than just joining certain ones and getting less honor at the end of it.

You should buy the PvP enchants, one which you get at the Wintergrasp vendor for 65 honor. I can't recall where you'd get the others, you will have to look that up on WoWhead. You also want to get yourself some enchanter-enchants, with mats. Don't really bother with the resilience ones... once you have relentless gear you will be totally set there. Get the 50 AP on your gloves and the AP on bracers and boots and a +10 to all stats on your chest piece. Don't bother filling out gems and enchants until you have relentless gear, else it will be a waste of gold.

    Hope this has helped
    Yes

if you really want to survive in pvp you should spec into protector of the innocent and eternal glory tbh :P
I did in my last spec but found it odd for some reason. I might revert back but seeing the changes on the ptr is giving me second thoughts( unless I'm mistaken, PotI is getting moved down in the holy tree.

Oy vey.... It's used for... wait for it.... damage.
No shit sherlock. Would you mind telling me when I should use it instead of being an arrogant a-hole? Oh wait nevermind. Willelm already wrote something on this already, meaning unless you also have something else to comment on that wasnt already mentioned means you should STFU!

    Thanks Willelms

Either he has fixed his spec, or his spec is fine Venziir.
    I fixed it

If you have 4 maxed toons, how do you not have gold? Secondly dont do dailies, quest out entirely Icecrown and Stormpeaks atleast, the extra gold from items from the quest is much better. The gold per zone at 80 is somewhere around 3-4k for an entire zone of quests (100+ x 10g average + 10-20g for some items and drops etc)
It's a long story. The majority of the quests were done on my paladin and my druid. My other character is a Horde character and is the only horde I have.
As for TV - My paladin can crit to around 20-25k on someone with no resilience, HoW does similar damage and CS is 10k+ on a crit.
Well yeah with my TV I hit for around 14K but on resilience it's like around 6K
One thing with spec tho, taking the talent which self heals on any heal for 3-4k can be somewhat nice extra heal for when you WoG or Flash heal yourself or someone else (it does proc on self heals). Also - Glyphs are a must, atleast TV etc.
Dammit. I keep spec-ing into damage talents to make up for my lack of damage

I have to say asking about DS is a pretty solid question imo. I see a lot of Paladins still using it frequently, so I don't think they get that it got hit with the nerf-bat.

I also forgot to mention one thing about Judgement. If you're facing a rogue, put judgement on them right away every CD because if they try to stealth, it'll pull them out.of it and you can continue with the pewpew.
    Secure accounts ftw!!

So I actually did that to a rogue just now in IoC. But he was still invisible when I hit him.

Also this is an offtopic question. I'm getting really choppy frames, making sounds like it's fizzling every now and then. My internet connection and framerate are fine( I get 26 now but before I got 45). It would be like this:
    Normal FPS.......chopchopchopchopchopchop*fizzz*chopchop.....NormalFPS........................... chopchopchop
I did a disk defrag and such and it solved most of it but I cannot find a thread on how to solve it completely. It's really messing me up in crunch time moments with HoW >_>

You're missing gems, the gems you do have are either hideously wrong or a cheap blue gem. You're missing nearly every enchant you can get. Your gear is below good and what you are gearing for its mostly wrong.

I don't think you can really give a valid opinion on the current Ret paladin situation when you clearly haven't yet learned how to play as Ret.

He'll phase out even with judgement; it has to tick to pull him out of it, like any other DoT, and if he's smart he'll sprint and go out of your line of sight before he's unphased.

I can't really help with the noise but it might be your fan if you're using a desktop. Open the tower and run WoW and see if it makes that noise then. You might want to take that question to comp support, too

Scan for viruses. If that doesn't find anything then firstly make sure your PSU is actually capable of getting enough power to everything in your PC, a lot of people overlook this and then wonder why their uber pro PC is failing. If your PSU is fine then its either graphics card or CPU. Run DxDiag and post the results, can't really help until you actually say your PC specs.

Well I'm on a laptop because my PC suffered the same thing. Posting DxDiag results in a few
I wish I could find a way to put it in a thumbnail or something. I'll just send it to your inbox to avoid unwanted stuff. Or not. I'll get rid of it if needbe

wow...wow. I mean I was all into your argument thinking hey maybe there's something there if ret is having issues like that. (I'm holy since vanilla so I don't know much about ret, didn't like the playstyle then and probably wont now.) But then I looked at your armory link...you outcha mind? IF you killed me in that gear I'd quit playing. Regardless of cost effectivness you have put forth almost no effort to your gear and your spec. Don't come on here hurling your crap cause you're mad that you die a lot when you've no place in the BG as is.
Summon Apollo's fire, with hell and heaven's might. Then with great force attend, the falling of all men.
Release this captured world, from point of no return. Destruction has no end, unless you ride again.

I feel like the entire spec is not solid in its attempt to be more "balanced" and that at 85 the spec will still be performing below average in the PvP environment.

I think you are 1 year behind the : Ret is FOTM (Flavor of the month). And like many said, you can't expect to be raping everyone when you don't even know what you are doing.
