I think it falls into the same category as stuff like Avatar: The Last Airbender and Samurai Jack. Anime inspired American cartoons.

Anywho, in an attempt to strike up conversation about something I understand,

Havent checked out Chihayafuru actually, mainly because its a Josei (or was it Shoujo?) anime :P
Tends to not fall into my taste (well Chibi Devi did, so thats atleast one exception).
Whats the pace of the anime and what is it about?

ep1 starts with one of the friends of the main girl missing, you see some chits and chats, forgot the rest alrdy :d ; then you see flashbacks and episode 2continues with the flashback,

it's about chihaya, the girl that wants to be a top model like her sister but discovers a passion for karuta. with only being 2eps for can't really say how the pace will go, It does have beatiful art, it is supposed to have 25episodes

about the Z, should be explained in the synopsis:

Based on the American cartoon, "The Powerpuff Girls."

Professor Utonium and his son Ken are studying the strange Chemical X. When a mochi cake falls into the formula, it changes into Chemical Z. Ken fires a ray of Chemical Z at a glacier in Tokyo Bay, however that causes strange black and white lights to scatter. The black lights turn its victims into monsters, with emphasis on a black light hitting a zoo monkey and transforming him into Mojo Jojo.

The white lights, however, aim at three normal girls, Momoko, Miyako, and Kaoru. This gives them the power to transform into superheroes, the Powerpuff Girls Z!

Nah. I still think that was one of the best ending to any series I have seen. If he can go out with a smile on his face, then why should we be sad for him?

Off for today, got a cold to treat. Wish anime could cure colds, would be awesome. (Well they partially do, then after the anime you remember what a horrible state youre in and its all back, even more annoying now since you hadnt thought of it for a while).

I only watched Bebop last year I think, and of course the ending had been spoiled for me years ahead, so it didn't really hit me hard

So, I was just re-reading the list on the front page, looking for anything that looked interesting, and I noticed something really depressing.
My post count passed Sy's a long time ago. I don't understand, what happened to him? He used to post like 30 times a day...

My post count passed Sy's a long time ago. I don't understand, what happened to him? He used to post like 30 times a day...

he's not posting anymore on mmo-champion, sometimes 1post or 2posts but rarely. I still speak with him day from day, think i'm the only one here in the thread (not with pm's but chat and wow realid)
