Love Live airing on Disney Channel in Japan is going to skyrocket the fan-base. The show is going to have two time slots 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday), and one of them is a 9:30 PM one. We'll probably see record-breaking numbers of ticket sales for an anime movie when the movie hits theaters in June. I also wouldn't be surprised if the movie beat Madoka and sold ~150k or more.

Japan isn't necessarily crowded, it's like calling California crowded when a vast majority of the population lives in only parts of the southern half of California. It's really everyone moving to metro areas that gives it a crowded sense. A lot of the issues could fairly easily be fixed with zoning projects and infrastructure changes, along with better city growth for a larger population.
