Hibike! Euphonium - Really loving this show so far. The characters all seem great, and the MC is still absolutely amazing. Her winking to contrabass-chan was too perfect.

So far it definitely feels more like Amagi quality than Chuuni S2/KnK, which I'm glad for. Hopefully KyoAni continues to produce stuff like this.

Honestly the shows they did that weren't inhouse stuff like Chuuni, KnK, Free (light novels published under kyoani's ln imprint) have usually been better, for me at least in enjoyment.

It seems with recent shows they've done people have forgotten how amazing KyoAni can actually be. FMP, Haruhi, Kanon, Clannad, Lucky Star, K-On, Nichijou, Hyouka, Air, all pretty good or decent shows. I even really loved Tamako Market, especially the movie.

It's only been recently that they had a small streak of not too great shows with Chu2Koi (first season was better), Free, and KnK. Amagi and hopefully Hibike will bring KyoAni back on the right track.

There's no fucking ending. I'm pissed. Wtf happened.

It was SOOO good. I had SOOO much promise.

Ending just ruined everything for me.

Yeah, I feel like it totally fizzles out in S2, unfortunately. I loved the first season myself. The second season spends way too much time covering characters of the crew that aren't actually that interesting, sacrificing time that could be used to develop Koko and the other main characters. Koko is barely present until the last couple of episodes as far as I can remember. I was really disappointed.

Hibike! - "Hugu!" "Huguu~!" My goodness there's a lot of cute to deal with in this show!
Glasses-senpai is great! "Kam ona, bay-bay... Conbass-chan!"

Hibike! might be the first KyoAni show I'm really enjoying in a long time. Probably first since Chuuni S1. Visually KyoAni's stuffs amazing, so I've been pretty miffed that the shows they've put out has either been rather bland or just not my bag from the get go (I skipped Tomato and Free).

Also, I picked up Shirobako and am on about episode 9. Who knew that animators were so cute:

Are you seriously saying that you didn't like Amagi Best Girl Park?

Amagi had its moments. But, it just didn't feel like anything special to me. Very by the books (especially the humour). I just couldn't get invested in the characters either (again, because I think they were all just by the book archetypes without individual quirks). I did really like the elemental girls designs though.

As for potential AOTS, I can't comment yet. I've not started watching everything I plan to. But, it seems like the stuff I'm most excited for each week so far is Plastic Memories and Hibike! (of new shows), Nisekoi 2 and OreGairu 2. But, I can really see OreMonogatari!! being this season's dark horse for me.

Nodame Cantabile is great. If you liked Shigastu, you should watch Nodame Cantabile. It's a much better show. You don't even need to have liked Shigastu. You should just watch it.
