While we're at it, how do you justify holding so much stuff in your backpack? Armor, fish, scrolls, food, drinks, other bags, reins for mounts.

This is crap. I demand we only get two inventory slots called 'pockets'.

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to pick up a sword, axe or hammer and start wailing on something.

    That is crazy!

I demand a inventory system based on weight of items. The more strength you have, the more you carry. Casters should enchant their armor with strength so they can carry more loot!

    But the true question is...
Is getting Sky+ TV putting a whole through your living room ?
    80 Orc Hunter
    80 Tauren druid
    80 Tauren Warrior
    80 Orc Warlock
    80 Blood elf Death knight
    To Be continued...

You could ask the same thing in regards to how can Blood Elfs muster the strength to even pick up a 2 hander?

    On dimorphism

It's a genetic thing. Smaller weaker females outbred bigger stronger females. Maybe nto cause they were better, but because there were more of them as the males did all the fightinatin and the womens did all baby makin.

Seriously tho it's a predominant trait through most IRL gene pools. There are of course still large women but they are less 'desireable' and less noticed because most cultures favor the feminine looking woman.

WoW's art style also portrays this to a tee. Yet through the magic of video games they move and fight with the exact same strength of a male. And to be honest even the men are able to fight and swing swords beyond what their muscle mass should allow. Even the world's strongest weight lifter would have trouble dual-wielding armageddons, let alone swinging them for 5 minute straight.

How do you explain that Blood Elf female paladins (and now warriors) can block just as good as any other race, even though their shields are waaaay smaller in comparison AND they keep it behind them when in battle stance... Really? Oh yea, I know why! It's a fantasy-game!

Did you ever play EQ? The monk class was kind of like that, if they were carrying too much their effectiveness was drastically reduced.

And money weighed a LOT, so they had to use the bank often!

Warriors are the most basic thing of any civilization. You have to defend your home land, so.. defense is necessary.

Goblins are said to look kinda frail, but actually they are quite strong (source Day of the Dragon, where Kryll almost strangled Rhonin to death)..
As for Gnomes... Probably invented a Steroid-o-matron-o-magic-9001 machine

Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann

World of Warcraft isn't the sexist world we live in, sadly. Females are among the strongest warriors(not the class)/heroes in Azeroth(Aegwynn, Jaina, Tyrande etc). Women are allowed to pick up the sword if they want to, just as men are allowed to stay home and wear a cheese hat in Stormwind.

The point is: Real life logic doesn't go under the fantasy category.

    EDIT:

If we -were- to implenty real-life logic into the game... anyone below a Tauren or Draenei would be squished to death by tanking most bosses, and some would even be big enough to take two steps and squish the entire raid(Suppremus)... just use your imagination and anything can happen.

Have you seen the muscles on a Chimp? A chimp which is both smaller and generally "less muscular" than a human has about six times the muscle capacity of humans. chimps have much more efficient muscle mass ratios than humans. This is why chimps can't naturally float while humans generally can.

what does this have to do with Wow? maybe gnomes have better muscle mass ratios than humans. I mean they have to be pretty strong for their size since their head is twice the size of a humans.

Kryll is almost my favorite Lore character, now .

Warriors aren't all brute strength as much as ferocity but consider that gnomes do have the lowest strength, it's just that base stats are largely unimportant compared to those on gear. The whole thing is that the gear lets even giants like tauren perform feats of strength beyond what should be possible. Their magic armour weapons and other items boosts them further. Same with gnomes.

Though what if magic gear is magically light? Makes sense afterall.

Perhaps ferocity and skill are important too. In the end you're so far removed from realism that you have to just assume "a wizard did it" that something beyond your understanding is happening. Or perhaps it just doesn't matter. Gnomes warriors are so angry that the sword just becomes lighter.
