Okay, so here is my issue, and i will notice later on what i have tried so far. Would really love it if any professionals might share their insights on the particular issue.
The problem:
Since some months my computer has some freezing up issues. What happens is, when i click the button to start my computer, i have always had the big white Acer load screen, for +/- 3-5 seconds. Then a beep follows, after the beep my computer starts up (first a black screen with white text saying it loaded/checked stuff, then windows starting up). Now since this issue started, 90% of the time, these 3-5 seconds, have become 1-5 minutes, and sometimes, it doesn't leave the white screen at all, no matter how long i wait, and i have to manually turn off the computer by holding the button for 3 seconds. (yes i know that is bad for a computer.) Apart from that, when i get past the white screen, and when my windows (vista) starts, the bar with the 3 blibs moving from left to right, indicating windows is loading, 100 % of the time also freezes up for 30 seconds (so also if the white screen doesn't do it's thing). Always gets out of that tho, but it just is not right.
Apart from booting freeze-ups, i also rarely have random freeze-ups when doing random stuff (usually when just on youtube, but also on other random ocasions (i am 90% sure i miss-spelled that word)). A last thing to mention, sometimes the white starting screen when booting, just takes the normal 3 seconds it SHOULD be (that 10% chance to add to the 90 mentioned earlier), but the chance for the freeze up later on seems to be bigger. Or i'm just paranoid.
My system specs, a less than 2 year old desktop: Acer Aspire M3641 - 92.DER7G.TCP

I can provide more information if needed.
One more thing to mention: ever since the above mentioned problem started, my computer also doesn't recognize the fact that i have a DVD/RW (or a variation of that name) drive present, although it does open, and is physically connected to the motherboard.
Problems keep happening even if i start up with everything except power supply disconnected from the desktop. (i can tell that from the timing of the beep)
New issue showing up today: WoW freezing up my computer when i click the button on the main screen to log in / press enter.
---UPDATE: Using repair tool on wow won't help, and i already defragmented that hard drive, so i will be reinstalling it.---
What I tried to solve this issue, but didn't work:
System Recovery, to any date before i got this issue. Result: same problems.
Driver Update via Windows list with hardware, Windows checked for new drivers online, found some (and installed ofcourse), but no changes at all to my problem.
Safe mode startup: can't solve white screen issue, because i can only activate it when i am far past that, and doesn't solve any other stuff.
Vacuuming some dust, although there was barely any there.
Disconnecting all hardware (mouse/monitor/keyboard, and all things like that), same problems.
Scanned for viruses and spyware and malware, some have been found and solved, but still same problems.
Currently defragmenting my hard drives, although that is already being done every month according to my windows, but this time i just do it manually to be sure.
Last resort if defragmenting and listening to hopefully any feedback from the forums does not work: formatting my computer (never done that before, and got to make sure i still have a windows to use after it, as i do not have a disk for it (has already been pre-packaged on the hard drive when the desktop got shipped to me, together with the other software), only a activation code (or how that code is called) for the current windows, which i guess i could use if i could just fill it in somewhere:P.
As you see i don't know anything about formatting my computer, so any feedback on that would be greatly appreciated as well, if it turns out to be needed.
A big THANKS to all of you reading this, and if you have any suggestion/idea/feedback to help me out, would be AWESOME.
