Yes you can now get the achievement, We were running around ganking people last night and got it in Arathi Highlands. Also it is not a FoS anymore it is listed under exploration and is worth 10 points.

I can confirm this. I was just about to start questing in Arathi Highlands, and the sky turned red, and boom dead with fire. No /yell or anything, just dead.
