Lets settle it once and for all: What is the exact meaning of y?
Is it why? or is it yes?
Vote now, and lets find out!
doesn't it mean both? y for yes and y? for why?
y often equals z when combined with x.
It should be used as 'why' if you're a lazy noobie.
It should be used as 'yes' if you're a lazy noobie.
Is it really that hard to type 2 more letters?
But if you are still unsure, you will have to use it in context with each sentence is comes with.
Edit: When I first stated using the internet for online gaming (over 10 years back) 'y' to me always meant 'why'.
It was only when I started playing wow that I saw people use it for 'yes'.

I DON'T KNOW.
No really, I don't know so I wont vote. I hate it when people say that to me as I honestly don't know whether they're questioning me or agreeing with me.
y = yes. y/n and so on
I don't think I've ever seen anyone in game use it for "yes". That just seems weird to me lol
Ye works fine for yes.
y? means why.
If theres no '?' then its not a question, grammar saves the day \o/.
It means neither. Know what it really means? Learn to type, spell things out, and stop being so fekking lazy. God, i hate chat-speak.
y? = why
y or y! = yes
y = yes
y? = why
