Err you sure you have an H67M board? That used the onboard graphics processor and doesn't allow you to use another one (to my knowledge at least) and its a micro board.

H67 doesn't prevent you from using discrete video adapters. It does prevent you from full-range multiplier overclocking "K" processors however.

Sorry I have the Core i7 I7-2600 8 MB (non K version) wrong copy paste! it was pure coincidence that I didn't buy the K version tho. But my motherboard supports the K versions if anyone cares

    And nickle yes I'm sure

H67 motherboards sure supports K-versions, but can't modify the multiplier thus making overclocking practically undoable. Generally a really bad investment for enthusiasts but it might fit people who don't fiddle with overclocking.

i can finally toss my hat into this ring since i have (most) of my parts. ill drop some pics when i have it all assembled and working

case: Raidmax Hummer (may take this back for the cheap darkfleet or something)

CPU: i5 2500k (once i get privvy to overclocking ill probably keep it oc'ed at 4.0)

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti

PSU: Silent Pro M 700w Modular

    Mobo: Asus P8P67 Pro

    Ram: 2x4 DDR3 Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500g 7200 RPM

    Optical: 24x Asus dvd drive

Speakers: just some cheap speakers i found with a little subwoofer to stick under my desk

    Mouse: Razer Naga

Keyboard: right now just a standard PoS keyboard i found at best buy when my laptop keyboard stopped working. aspiring to pick up a Logitech G510

pretty standard midrange pc with some enthusiast level parts. hopefully should last me a few years till i need to do some serious upgrades

    i7 2600k @ 4.9 Ghz (Corsair H50)
    Asrock P67 Extreme6
    2x2 GB Kingston Hyperx 1600Mhz
    HD 6950
    WD Black 640GB
    HAF 932

The cpu performance is....amazing. So happy I didn't buy an i7-950 and waited till SB was out. Considering a future upgrade of 6950 CF and an SSD for WoW and Windows.

I'm also a reviewer at a Belgian Hardware site. Getting a Steelseries 7G next week. Can't wait to test my first mechanical keyboard

    Only 4.0? Why not 4.8+?

Because of the Gods of overkill will smite you?

Edit: Or because 4.0 looks prettier than 4.8.

    idk either work.

Overkill is more like 5.0+ on a CPU like that, but w/e.

Around 10% of the chips are capable of reaching 5ghz+ on air, so overkill would be more like 5.5ghz. Hell there's even reports of a handful of chips running at 5.5ghz on air, I'm not kidding!

The really strange thing is, stuff like liquid nitrogen cooling has resulted in worse overclocks than liquid/air. The "ideal" working temperature seems to be around 0-20 degrees C (extremely strange since cooling a chip should reduce resistances and increase it's speed). Previous generations of CPU's could reach insane overclocks at -150 degrees under nitrogen. It's like the cooling mechanics work backwards on Sandy Bridge.
