Noctua? On sale? You must be mad. :P I'd love to see it on sale, damn it. >_<

    - - - Updated - - -

Frankly I am probably going to go for the Phanteks black and white TC14P whatever MOSJDISDHSDNADO numbers and letters heatsink myself.

It'll go great with the white Fractal R4 and black and white mobo that is the ASUS X99 - Deluxe.

They go on sale once in a while. D14 was going for $60 at one point a few months back.

Yeah, I think that's because the D15 had arrived, though. =/

I'd love for you to join us in the CPU overclocking thread, Erous!

Beautiful build, and welcome to the, rather exclusive (for the moment!) DDR4 club!

Thanks Deltrus. That's my plan for the weekend. I used AIDA 64 for about a 2.5 hour stability test to get it where it is. I'll just need to play with it a bit and let it go for the required 8+hours. The build plays well. Took it for a spin in WoW obviously and the GTX 970 came with a choice of game, so I picked Far Cry 4 and maxed everything out. What a beautiful game.

Nothing special right now: Dell ST2420L 24-inch LED

I used to run dual screen but my wife needed the other. 1440 may come when I get the chance to put a 2nd card in, but NVIDIA DSR is pretty snazzy

Don't think I've posted one with my 1440 screens just yet.

I also have another 240 rad in the bottom of the case now, GPU temps not normally over 50 degrees now for titans running 1.3V and ~1300MHz

Dynamic Super Resolution WoW supports it now, D3, etc, with new generation NVIDIA cards and drivers.

Our new Maxwell architecture introduces a raft of innovative, exciting technologies that make your games better in dramatic ways. Of these new features, Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) will have largest impact, enhancing any game that supports resolutions above 1920x1080. What does DSR do? Simply put, it renders a game at a higher, more detailed resolution and intelligently shrinks the result back down to the resolution of your monitor, giving you 4K, 3840x2160-quality graphics on any screen.

AMD released something similar, Virtual Super Resolution.

However, when will people realize that what they infer from something written in text is not entirely what the writer intended to imply? Even with very simple language, there's often misunderstanding.

It's weird that it developed a pump fault, but it's weirder that he didn't RMA an item costing about a hundred bucks when it's fully covered under warranty. I would, and even if I didn't use it (which would be weird) then I could at least sell it as an as-new item.

That's how it's fuckin' weird, matey.

    Loved it!! +10...lol

DSR is supported by every single 3D application, as far as I am concerned. It is basically just an override to the rendering resolution in 3D applications. Basically, as you enable it, it adds new resolutions to the list in your driver, and it is then added in every 3D application. You can even change the resolution of your desktop, although, when I did this with 4K, the text became unreadable (not enough pixels to make it clear enough).

Correct, but not all games support the smoothness option, nor support pointer functionality. I didn't know how else to word that last one, but basically when you have a game like wow with a visible pointer, as you raise the res your pointer gets smaller, in this case using DSR and wow the pointer doesn't shrink.

I was mistaken before, most nvidia cards support DSR with the newer drivers, just depends whether or not the card is powerful enough to handle it.

True; downsampling from high resolutions sometimes can cause problems in games with resolution-based scaling. For example, in Mass Effect 3 UI size is fixed in terms of pixels, so in 4K linear dimensions of the UI are two times smaller on the screen. And, since there are 4 times less pixels than in native 4K, the UI text appeared very hard to read.

Once I get around to tidying up the case i'll get some updated full-system pics, until then you get this:
If you must insist on using a non-sanctioned sitting apparatus, please consider the tensile strength
of the materials present in the object in question in comparison to your own mass volumetric density.

In other words, stop breaking shit with your fat ass.

I'll have more pictures as I get farther in the cleaning and rearranging, but it's a BIG task that's taking a long time...
