Trouble connecting to Blizzard

Since I don't see a troubleshooting thread I guess I'll post this here. I was playing WoW this evening when suddenly I disconnected and could not reconnect. Thinking the servers has crashed or some such I attempted to go to the warcraft.com website only to find a timed out message, and the same applied for battle.net. Is this a known problem or has something seriously screwed up on my end? I know the site is up because I had a friend go to it and battlenet for me to confirm.

Thank you! I thought it was just my connection. Same thing happened to me about an hour ago and I can't get back in.

Seems the battle.net connection is down.

Happened to me about an hour ago as well, after playing around and looking through a few posts across forums like this one I've come to think it might be one of the connections leading from me to blizzard, maybe one of the hops went down, then again I am not the sharpest knife when it comes to computers so I'm here trying to find some more insight.
