Yeah, feel free to install it, upgrade your account, w/e. You won't be penalized. You just won't be able to play any Cata-exclusive content until the 7th.

This sort of thing happens all the time with games, retailers shipping them out a few days early or what have you. Nobody expects you to hold off playing the game if you get it early**. If Blizzard has a problem at all, it's with the retailer, not you.

**IF you get it legitimately. Big difference. Found an early copy at the store? OK. Downloaded a leaked pirated copy? Not OK.

What's it matter? Don't have a key to upgrade your account and it doesn't matter what version you have installed.

The early delivery stuff is rather interesting, I work for a store that sells blizzard games, we regularly have a blizzard rep/game rep come in and check our stock/display, and if we were to sell a copy of cata before the 7th we would be fined huge amounts PER game sold for breaking embargo rules (luckily theres something built into the system that prevents scanning of embargo'd items). Wonder how early delivery fits into that seeing its technically delivery of an item while an embargo exists.
