Can you max mining in cata and still be level 80?

My main in cata will not have mining but I have an alt who does. Can I max mining on him before getting him to 85, or is there a level requirement?

The only level requirement will probably be getting to the zones with minerals that can level you up 100% of the time.

Yes, technically you can. However, guess where the top mining zone is? Yep, it's Deepholm. And guess how you get to Deepholm without a warlock summoning you there? That's right; you have to be level 82.

I was disappointed to realise this, since I planned on zerging my warrior's mining to 470, pop on my mining gloves and start spiralling around Deepholm. There is always Uldum and Twilight Highlands but in the first few weeks nodes will be farmed out the wazoo and so it will definitely pay to be in Deepholm because of its ore deposit richness.

Even if you get into deepholm you still will need to be realy carefull or you get 1 shooted by mobs.They were hitting for 15k on beta.
