The Official -I was removed from group- Thread

This is the official "I was removed from group" thread.
Most of us have felt the sting of being or have seen someone removed from group for a horrible reason or even no reason at all.
Share your tales, my booted brothers and sisters!
    -

Last night I queued for a random, waited 50 minutes and finally Halls of Origination!
I ended up in a all guild run, filled with I-335+ King Slayers.

We clear to the first boss without issue. However, we wipe after the first visit to the snake pit. (Healer went OOM)
My dps was a bit lacking this go. The groups mage tells me to "DPS like a real boy."

We attempt it again, wiping in the same way. I ask the mage, was my DPS ok that time? I get no answer.
So I ask the tank and am shown that I topped damage. While everyone is running back I am booted.

I message the tank asking what was up, to be told "They didn't like you."

Never been kicked from a group, but I have left many of them when they are full of baddies.

  3. #3
I join a group, they have cleared up to Precious.
    "Mage, CC Sheep"
    "OK"

Tank runs in, thunderclap breaks sheep. Resheep, thunderclap breaks sheep. Resheep, thunderclap breaks sheep. Wipe.
    Everyone runs back in.

    "FFS sheep this time!"
    "You kept breaking it!"
"No you didn't resheep I saw it!" (from a DK DPS)
Tank pulls, thunderclap breaks sheep. Resheep, thunderclap breaks sheep. Resheep, thunderclap breaks sheep. Wipe.
    "FFS mage you suck"
    Kicked.

I got kicked for having a non combat pet out because I was in a random with 3 people that were guilded, and the hunter told me to dissummon the pet because it was making him lose dps on the trash. Naturally I wasn't going to comply with someone threatening me so I just stuck at it untill I got kicked. In the timeframe between the asking and booting, I'd endured about 10 insults from said hunter. Both other guildies never said anything so I assume he was just a sad little boy.

I got kicked from a Halls of Origionation group about 30 sec after entering, after waiting a 40 min queue, because they wanted to bring in a guildie instead, wrong place wrong time. Jerks.

Was in a heroic Grim Batol over the weekend. We were moving through the trash prior to the first boss at a decent pace, I was leading damage. Told them I had to AFK 1 min (someone was at the door) came back about 40 secs later and was already booted. That was the only time I've ever been booted.

I've seen people kicked for stupid reasons such as

    "Is a republican"

    "Is a democrat"

In the kick description box, and people who were not in the same guild as the guy who initiated the kick just instinctively clicked yes. I've had tanks kicked just before they pulled the final boss.

    Damn republicans.

I dont recall ever being vote kicked, but then i very rarely use the LFD tool, back in vanilla i was kicked a few times for letting a mob loose while my succubus recast seduce, that was annoying.

I was kicked from group while on my druid (feral-dps) because I switched to bear form after the tank died (and killed the boss, incidentally).

The reason I was told (and caps are intentional), from the healer: "IF THE TANK DIEZ YOU WIPE YOU FTARD YOU NOT TANK YOU DO NOT TANK EVER". Tank and healer were from same guild on the Area 52 server.

Got kicked for not being able to heal through the sunbeams at the third boss in The Lost City of the Tol'Vir on Heroic.

I don't post that often, and when I do it's often in bursts. I always lurk though.

These days I mostly (as in better than 90% of the time) play only with guild members when it comes to instances. However back in the early days of Wrath I was removed from the group simply because I was the odd man (healing at the time on my holy priest) in a 5 man group....the only "stranger"..the others were friends. There was nothing wrong with how anyone performed it was a smooth run in fact...no one died on my watch either....I was simply booted before the last boss because their friend was available to play...so they kicked me for their friend..

I thought that was lame...but I actually just went on to something else -- didn't nerd rage or anything....

LOL. So basically when either one of them fails, you just stop trying? Classic..

You should feel grateful for not continuing to play with those morons in that case....sorry your time was wasted though...

Seriously any group with that mentality are more fail then even gear score can hint at..

Its about getting the job done...not stroking egos....

Agreed. We had the tank die on one of the bosses, and the Priest, yes THE PRIEST, kite-tanked him until he was dead and I had no problems keeping him up. Just goes to show everyone, that you never, EVER, stop trying until your HP are at zero.

    just my QQ
Ive been vote kicked just becase of the fact that i could roll on something the tank wanted. Ive had this a few times so far but what ive had 2-3 times is a situation where its a DK tank and its an instance where a 2h weapon drops.

LFG is in chaos now, dps waits for 45 mins just to zone in and be booted for no damn good reason

queued as dps on my shadowpriest. was told i had to heal because the healer would rather dps. told them it wasnt a good idea to have a shadowpriest as your healer, but tried anyways. was booted after the anticipated wipe. yes, this was a cata 5man heroic.

This one get's me. In what way does your non-combat pet affect his DPS? Must say I've heard a lot of strange things over the years but this is in a league of its own!

  19. #19
I guess he tried clicking his target. The pet was Ragnaros, by the way.

The worst time I had with a grp more often than not had to be while I was DPS'ing.

People don't seem to mind when I tank or heal, but if I'm not doing enough DPS, that's when the vote-kick machine gets moving. : /
