There are plenty of gem slots in 346gear. Maybe you simply got the "wrong" stuff ;-). My gear has 10 gem slots atm.

I also have 10 gem slots. I'm not going to gem all whacky just to activate a meta that they have stated is going to change anyways. All that whacky gemming just to have to go back and fix it later...no thanks.
