Embersilk droprate too low? Or Just rite?

Ive been running dungeons, questing, and i cant break 501 tailoring because i cant seem to find enough embersilk. Currently ive been getting 10-15 cloth a run if im lucky. Most of the mobs are not humanoids. I wonder if blizz will give tailors embersilk scavenger, and up the drop for those farming bandages etc.

I'm hoping that they up the drop rate because I'm getting sick of being a lvl 82 and have tailoring that isn't even 460 because I never come across cloth. As a side-effect my enchanting is low and the only reason why its what it is now is because I had 4 bags of Wrath mats that I've been doing high end enchants on vellums with.

What, you also think leveling professions should be a matter of hours? Keep doing dailies and quests. Getting the purples, if anything is right according to heroics, shouldn't be easy as to just go to the AH and buy several stacks because everyone is swarming with cloth.

    IMO, it's just right.

I agree. The drop rate is abysmal and you can't really farm it either because it only drops off of humanoids. Even when it DOES drop you still only get like 1 or 2 cloth. I was trying to farm it earlier out in Deepholm on the Alliance ship because the guys literally spawn instantly, but after about.. An hour of farming I only had 80 cloth.

Not trying to sound like a dick or anything, but other professions CAN go out and farm their mats by just finding a node and clicking on it and only people of said profession can get those mats. However EVERYONE can get Embersilk and there's still barely any of it.

    Seriously?

I've done every quest from all the new zones (Loremaster of Cataclysm as of last Sunday). I've only had enough cloth to get first aid (I'm not a tailor) to 518. Out of every single mob I killed for every single quest in those zones, plus running two dungeons a night since I hit 85 last Friday, and doing the Tol Barad dailies for the last two days. Sorry, no, the drop rate is atrocious. I'm not looking forward to eventually leveling my tailor at all. I got exactly three pieces of cloth last night out of two regular dungeons. THREE. Do I want everything to be EZ-mode? Of course not. But it's not like tailors can exactly go loot cloth nodes. Mobs *are* their cloth nodes, and if their nodes don't drop cloth, they're pretty well out of luck. I think they can strike a balance with the drops between where they are now and what they were in Lich King. What makes it worse is that a lot of non-tailors are hoarding their cloth drops to work on leveling first aid and eventually the first aid 500 bandage achievement.

well i think it about right, through leveling in Hyjal from 80-82 i was able to find around 4 stacks , and i got those only because the mobs spawn really fast so i have to kill and loot, maybe you should try western hyjal, i think i found 90% there

I love having to pay 150g a stack. It's ok though, when people want their spellthreads I'll be charging a 150g fee.

You are not your role. You are not how much gold you have on your account.
You are not the mount you ride. You are not the contents of your bank.
You are not your epic purples. You are not a special and unique snowflake.
You are the all-grinding, all-farming crap of Azeroth.

The drop rate is low but i think it is rather finely tuned. Cloth was always too common imo and its a nice change. If you are unhappy go buy some on the AH

While doing all the quests in vash'jir, and gaining 2 lvls, got just over 2 stacks, which is enough for what? 1 craft?

im not a tailor but i hav to say it is a very low drop rate.done ll the zones quests for the achievments and a couple of dungeons and had 15 stacks of clot.

anoth is enchanting.after DEing 90% qust rewards im still only on 509. s dont feel bad tailoring isnt the only strugeling one

I agree the drop rate seems to low BUT that is probebly because there are far fewer humanoid mobs, or so it seems. I could be wrong about that last part but either way cloth seems far rarer then in wotlk which I thought was about how it should be, tailoring wasn't easy to cap at all but now...first aid is pretty much uncappable without buying a load off the AH.
That's just my thoughts tho, I'm happy to not be leveling a tailor.

This post however...you can NOT blame low cloth drops on your enchanting issues. After I capped I had a giant mountain of mats, simply from quest rewards alone...

edit: I guess some others are having this enchanting 'issue' aswell, but I had plenty of mats so I dont know what you guys are doing different..

The droprate is fine IF you remember to loot every single mob that you can. The droprate even in regular dungeons isn't too bad either, I usually get 2-3 stacks during a normal Grim Batol run.

I'm wondering how many of you guys have actually levelled tailoring, 'cuz I'm sitting @519 and so far, I've spent a shitload of gold in ah since I can't for my life even remotely have enough embersilk for skilling tailoring....

Then you, sir, are extremely lucky. I'll be lucky if I get 1 stack from a Grim Batol run, which has an abnormal amount of trash.

I like how you presume those of us not getting cloth are loot-skippers. Trust me, I've never skipped looting a mob. I'll even come back and take a death just to loot if the corpse is surrounded by what had just killed me. I killed everything in the game required for every single quest in the new zones plus anything patrolling around the nodes I mined. That's a lot of killing. Plus, like I said, two dungeons a night since last Friday. I've never even come near getting 2-3 stacks a night, let alone 2-3 stacks from one run of any dungeon. I'm starting to wonder if the drop rates are screwed up for some people and not for others, because that sounds closer in line to other experiences I've had with cloth drops. Either you're really lucky, or the rest of us are consistently unlucky. I'll keep an eye out tonight when I'm in dungeons.

    Well, i just finished Stonecore.
    I had exactly 4 Embersilks.
None before, 4 after the run.
Not stacks. Exactly 4 silks, and i looted any mob possible.

The flayers near the big Son of Kor mobs are a good place to get silk.
The small ones run around in packs of 5ish and do crap all dmg.
    Try that.

    IMO its way toooo low

I've leveled 5 toons to 85 now and still havent been able to get my tailoring much past 480 despite ALL cloth going towards that... and none to anybodies first aid yet....

    its extremely low.

(for that matter, enchanting mats seem to be low too, most things I disenchant I get like 1 dust for, and i simply cant get enough materies to get my enchanting high enough to begin disenchanting the next tier of gear to get more meats)

From 80 to 85, I went through all the new questing areas in consecutive order (because I wanted to experience the lore and new content) and afterwards, came out with more than 20 stacks of Embersilk cloth from killing quest mobs. Thought the drop rate was pretty high....makes good gold.
