lol its an "easter egg" (hidden joke) its a statue of liberty yes, but if u look closely at face its a main character from Starcraft II

No it isn't - it's the face from the female titan construct, like the Maiden of Grief or Ironya.

It's been there for a very very long time.
Check some other dig sites (in Northrend for example) and you'll find another (even bigger ones).
It's always burried to half, so it may not be a complete statue, but at least the model of the head/hand with torch is there.
