What stuff are people glad that Blizz has changed over the years? Time to offer a seasonal thank you to the powers that be!
My offering is how swimming used to make you dismount. Any kind of marsh was a real pain to navigate.

I remember running for over a half hour from Darnassus to Stormwind through the Wetlands with a lvl 1 toon. Those were the days.
Making the paladin mounts buyable from the trainer.
Was really annoying joining in the middle of BC and not been able to do the quests because of the lack of people wanting to do it.
But my favourites was the addition of the RDF and the ability to queue for Battlegrounds on the run.
I remember hitting level 40 for the first time and getting excited to get my first mount only to realize I had nowhere near enough gold. Took me till level 42, but man was I happy to have that thing. It was a huge milestone at the time.
I also remember roaming the world taming pets solely to learn new skills to teach my primary pet. And we only had 2 stable slots at the time (3 pets total), and you of course had to stable your current pet before you could tame another. Pet talent trees FTW. But then back then bestial wrath lasted 20 seconds, boosted your damage output by 50% and rendered you completely immune to all CC for the duration, so it's all a trade-off I guess.

^Crap like this is why battle.net threads get locked. Blizzard is not on a crusade against you.
Remember when....
Clams didn't stack?
If people criticized the Bible as much as they criticize WOW we'd all be atheists.
Dual spec.
This may still be controversial, but single spec just wasn't fair to the healers in places outside of raids and dungeons.
Dual spec also gave options to enjoy both PvP and PvE.
Sure, to some, it's an extravagance, but to others it's a choice that doesn't involve leveling a whole new character to enjoy both aspects of the game.
Remember when Rampage wasn't a buff but more of a spell
And Death Wish Removed CC ability, fear and more
Stolen ... from elyssia .... mad elyssia?
Egan's blaster.
The bit where the majority of the game's specs stopped being completely useless and pointless at max level was nice.
For instance, you could buy the game, see a class that could shapeshift, and actually be ALLOWED to shapeshift in the endgame. Revolutionary stuff.
Yeah, that whole 'single raid spec' thing annoyed me a bit in vanilla..
Remember when Death Coil was just a direct damage spell that cost an absurd amount of mana and didn't have a fear?
Or when fears DIDN'T have a DR timer :P Then when DRs were added to CC, seduce wasn't linked to it. Then they also made it so getting attacked had a chance to break the fear.
Then Blizzard decided to make Dots receive something silly like 300% of the warlock's spellpower, only to nerf it BELOW what it was originally, a week later.
Warlocks were nice and OP back then.
oh: and when curse of shadows only helped with shadow damage, and no warlock wanted to waste a curse on elements. as well, CoS added something like 100-700 shadow damage to each Shadowbolt, when your shadowbolts only did like 800-1000 damage.
when you had to farm for Demonguard/Infernal tomes to learn the spell. hours and hours in Blasted Lands with my guild trying to get a crappy spell that required people to die to use it, and could break whenever to kill you. or getting an infernal randomly from LBRS, just to have to use an expensive reagent for a summon creature that would break in 5-60 seconds, and kill you.

I'm glad they got rid of the Hunter dead zone.
For any hunters out there, remember when you actually had to tame different level pets to learn new ranks of abilities?
And you didn't get the new ranks right away, you actually had to use the pet.
The pets stayed at the level in which you tamed them and were squishy as hell, so they died if you weren't careful and it took longer to learn claw rank 4.
Then, if there was a rare one, like Azzaris or whatever the red wind serpent in Barrens was called and you were already 60, you had some SERIOUS grinding to get that level 15 pet caught up...
Man, that sucked.
I remember when there wasn't spellpower, but healing and spelldamage were 2 different stats. I can't even remember how they were named and the more I think about it the more unreal it seems, but I know it was there and im glad there is spellpower now.
