Has gathering XP been nerfed?

Could have sworn I was getting more XP from herbs than I am now. I would see 500xp.. sometimes 1000xp with rested. Now I barely see over 200xp.

Nerf or just the wrong herbs?

Nothing changed with them. You're supposed to get 2500 + exp at level 78 +.

You get more XP if your herb/mineral node is orange than you do for yellow/green/grey, and gathering XP is affected by rested XP.

I'm getting to 85 on my alt purely through mining.. almost 83!
