it's a fantasy book series Written by George R.R. Martin. it's a really adult series, with a lot of sex, blood and gore, set in a world where the seasons are erratic and winter is deadly. Recently, HBO turned it into a primetime series which has turned immensely popular. however, you have people who read the books and who didn't read the books watch it.

the weekend after memorial day, a huge plot twist happened that was part of the book, but was a massive surprise to people who didn't read the books. I haven't read or seen the series yet and I don't want to spoil stuff, so I won't say what happened, partly because I don't even know. suffice it to say that the scene was called "A Red Wedding" in the book. A lot of people didn't know it would happen and as such to them it was like the Dallas Ewing cliffhanger 2.0.

Yeah, funny how this works. Of all the things they could have added to "enhance" the show, I never understood the Sparticux-esque nudity. Every 10 minutes someones falling out of their shirt. Why?

Sex sells, it's also something often used to portray that kind of time period/society, I don't mind it as HBO tend to make it fit the show without being vulgar about it.
