What would happen if WoW was offline for a week?

I intended this to be a discussion on how the mass wow-society will respond as a whole, but individual responses work towards the same answer anyways.

Well, for myself, I tend to quit wow now and then although I'm playing for almost 6 years in total. If my life is dull, I return. If exciting stuff happens, I quit. WoW is like a filler for me. I love doing whatever I'm doing intensely, and WoW is no exception in this manner.

I'd probably feel a bit bored for a while, but could easily find something else to do.

No real problem for me, I too have been known to go MIA for months at a time, however I think the WoW world as a whole would go insane, too many hardcores eat, breathe, and poop Wow...

I imagine the "hardcore" would spend their time nerd-raging about loosing this weeks raid lockout.

But I suppose it all depends on Blizzards reasoning.
"It's down for a week for maintenance" will have the rabid masses howling at their doors.
"We're adding x, y, and z. You'll love it, heres a week of game time to account for it." will probably leave most satisfied.


Me? I'd finish Assassins Creed 2 and Brotherhood, and start on the games from the 2009 Christmas Steam sale that I still aint played (£50 on games I aint touched, I blame WoW personally).
