I was wondering how many people in the mmo-champion community have started playing LoL or have an interest in it. I started about a month ago and strongly considering canceling my wow sub. to focus on it more.

For those who don't know its a Dota style 5v5 pvp game. Made by the creater's of Dota. If you don't know what Dota is i suggest you crawl out of whatever cave you have been living under.

Anyway, Any thoughts on it? Flames, love, people playing it competetively? etc.

LoL sucks,HoN is 10 times better

Has better graphics,more dinamic gameplay,players can reconnect etc.

League of Legends is trash... HoN is awesome, and well worth the 30 bucks. However, I expect both to move to the wayside once DoTA 2 comes out.

I tried to play LoL but all I get is a Black screen if I try to play. Can't fix it and the only solution they say is buy a new graphics card yet i can run wow quite fine hmmmmm.

But from what ive seen from TB's videos it looks a fresh change to my Dota n Smota games.

LoL was fun, but they update it too often. Too many heroes means that taking a break for even a month will put you behind and you just have to re-learn all the changes, new heroes, new skills, etc.

LoL is an amazing game, its fun to play and has runes that let you adjust your build and talent trees like wow. Now the bad part....the community is terrible, be prepared to be called explicit names during games by the enemy AND your own team. There are two commands you'll get used to using, and thats "/ignore enemy" which ignores the entire other team, and "/ignore team" if your doing a pug. People in this are all 12yr old punks who have no class or tact, once you get beyond that the game is great fun.

Terrible compared to HoN imo. People only play it over HoN because it's free.

H.o.n isn't terrable... but its not better than LOL. I never liked the some of the core dota designs back when i first played the crap outa it in WC3 days.... Hon kept alot of that in tact. Dota's original item system was a little weird and hard to get used to, and they allowed denying.... O.o (killing ur own teammates or minions has got to be the stupidest thing ever)....What Striph said is pritty dead on, but if you can get past the flamer's and establish a nice core of friends(obviously the only reason you would be gettn flamed is if you suck or ur playing hero's for the first time without practiceing or reading up on them first) u never have to pug and it really is a blast. I perfer it and recomend it to everyone who stumbles onto this thread!... bottom line.. if you like arena style pvp... either game is probly a good choice for you.

P.S. Dont let posts on here stear you away from the game..... Their updates are right on! and never go longer than needed and shows they are improving things... thats GOOD! Any game u play hardcore, then take a break from, willl be a game you have to relearn a couple things about when u come back, DUH!!!!!! The game is amazingly balanced and anyone who says it isnt, probly is just QQ'ing cause they dont know how to play the hero, they want to play.

Not to go off-topic, but Warcraft is a strategy game where you control multiple units and heroes, and whatnot, whereas DotA (yes, that's how you capitalise it) is a Warcraft III map where you only control one hero (plus it's more customised, has more triggers, and so on).

Ontopic: I've tried it, it's 'meh' at best. I much prefer Heroes of Newerth to it, though, as someone mentioned before, DotA 2 will most likely outshine both.

I beleive, but im not 100% sure, about this stuff... but, Dota was a custom map made for Wc3.. it had such great replay apeal to is fan base that not 1, but 2 separate, stand-alone games were made from it. Hero's of Newearth kept alot of the original dota mechanics, while LOL chose to make some changes to the gameplay. To answer your question Aragen.. they were, a long time ago one and the same. Dota has evovled tho, into something much funner I think, regardless of which one u choose to play >.<

Love LoL, haven't had time to play it lately though :/. As far as the comparison between the other moba games goes, I still like it the best (except for the fact that DoTA has wc3 characters x)) HoN is pretty much just a straight of copy of DoTA with slight changes and improvements that couldn't be fixed with the wc3 engine. So for me it's not worth the 30 bucks to pay for a game I technically already have with wc3. (I have played HoN fyi). Anywho if I had to choose one thing that I like best about LoL, it's the removal of denying, at first when I switched to it I was like "damn that sucks, not enough skills here is gonna be boring" but hell was I wrong, you know what happens when you remove denying? You try to actually kill the enemy heroes, in most dota and hon games Ive played people mostly stay idle until there's a super good opening, or they are extremely good at harassing, and basically just last hit and deny, in LoL you go nuts from the start and try to score kills and it's a blast. I could go at it all day but I'll end it here, and before this starts into a "OMG HoN IS BETTAR KAWFWG" thread, everyone likes their game for different reasons. Respect that and if you like HoN better it doesn't belong in this thread, and gently explain why.

LoL is a great game, especially for being completely free to play. Like was said earlier, there are a lot of updates and lots of new champions that come out often. This makes the game slightly cumbersome to come back to after a break or to start up, but the learning curve is such that if you're not stupid you should do fine. Still confused by their matchmaking system. Seems mostly random to me as I'll go on a 20 game win streak while pugging, get great teams and whatnot, then the next day have a leaver every game as well as a window-licker feeding...

Also, prepare to be flamed LIKE MAD by anyone and everyone in there..

HoN has immature staff who don't take anything serious.
Graphics does not mean better, in this case they tried too hard to rip off WC3 style.

LoL players can reconnect, but you are too ignorant to know that.

I purchase HoN and quit within 30 minutes. LoL has kep me happy for months now.

Volty. He is more of a friend of a friend, but hes a really great guy, very fun to play with. Plays WoW too lol
