    alchemy question

So, i started playing wow again when cata was released after a long break back in BC. Dropped my old proffesions and leveled alch/herb. Just a quick question, do you still have to do the BC quests to become for example transmute master?

    Thanks for ze help

    yes you do.
This signiture is brought to you by the letters F and U, and the number 2.

"I know your $14.99 entitles you to play the game your way, but the rest of the raid's $359.76 says know your role."

Yes but you can change to any once you have finished one quest for a price. Most people do the transmute one and then change if they want to since transmute is just a gathering one, no dungeons necessary.

Actually, if you don't want to be a specialist alchemist right when you hit 65 (or something), the potion and elixir quests are much cheaper and very easy to solo on any level 80 character. You'll probably even make the potions or elixirs on your way to 350 alchemy.

While it's easier to do, the mats for four (or five, don't remember) Primal Might take ages to farm, or are usually extremely expensive at the auction house. It's much easier to do the Potion Mastery, where you just produce a few pots you'd make anyway on your way up, kill that one guy in Botanica that's easily soloable and be done for it. Much more efficient, much faster, and depending on the prices at the AH cheaper, even if you switch your spec afterwards.

I powerleveled Alch on one toon a few weeks ago. I bought all mats from the AH. I made up the cost of the transmute specialization in a few days of truegold and rare gem transmutes.

i did the transmute mastery this weekend, took me 2 hours to farm the mats, bought the cheepest one´s on AH.

    2-20g each primal = profit

i levelled 1-525 through AH and 2 day´s later i have all the g´s back from just selling the flasks and elixirs i made

no... most people do the potion one, xmute takes i believe 5x primal mights... getting 10x super mana / health potions, and going to first boss in bot is so much easier...
Still I cry, tears like pouring rain, Innocent is my lurid pain.

Yeah, or I could just bang that one boss in the Bota, give the stuff I produced anyway to the quest giver and be done with it. Total time spend: ~15 minutes, including flying to Netherstorm and back. Total money spend: 150 for switching.

I'd rather spend that 150 gold for switching than to farm or buy that bullshit.

yer its way better to do that one and switch, 150g is nothing compared to the mats for the other ones.

uh yeah idk why ppl are scared of the elixir one. with the portal to Uldam and Black Morass being easily solo'd... the mats for the elixers can easily be farmed in terokar forest btw.
