Social Network just won a Golden Globe over Inception. I have now lost faith in the world and i will never watch the Golden Globes in good faith again.

Did I miss something, or are the Oscars not until late Feb? You sure about that Grimmy?

its storyline was pretty generic, yes. but the effects were truly ground-breaking. Hurt locker had nothing special about it, and was at best a pretty average movie

    This.

Besides, I thought The Social Network was a better film than Inception. I enjoyed the latter, but wasn't nearly as impressed as I thought I would be.

Avatar was a great movie, anyone saying it was pretty bad, well, you obviously have no idea what good movies are anymore. If anything, the Last Airbender was one of the most overrated movies of the last decade. So if you mean THAT Avatar, then yes.

the effects were in no way ground-breaking, ground-breaking means that they'd never been seen b4 and are setting the path for a whole new class of effects.

The Social Network was played out to an extent that made me want to throw up. Inception was a movie that really did keep my interest, even though it didn't have the clearest plot. Anyways, Inception should have won, The Social Network was horrible.

Is this statement hypocritical or oxymoronic? It's definitely one of the two.

If you thought Avatar was great, the Jersey Shore is probably on some time tonight; you should tune in.

I wanted to throw in that Avatar was an overrated movie. The effects were good, yes. But, the script wasn't that great and I felt like it had an awkward flow. The Last Airbender wasn't remotely overrated. It never got good ratings, the only reason why it succeeded at the box office is because of its large fan base. The Hurt Locker I felt was a better film and more deserving of praise than Avatar, without a doubt.

they were above and beyond any CGI ever seen before, in that way i mean they were ground breaking. if you still disagree, go watch it on blu-ray on a proper HD-TV

I can almost guarantee ur 16yrs old or under by bringing up the last air bender, you dont know what good movies are bc there hasnt been a REALLY good movie in the last 10yrs. I never even considered seeing the last air bender, bc i knew it would have been a waste of $11. You were distracted by the pretty colors of avatar bc thats what ur used to. Its storyline was terribly boring and the "ground-breaking effects" as someone stated above were not enough to keep me watching.

The atomic bomb was ground breaking. If you still disagree, go look at pictures of Hiroshima after they surrendered.
