The most terrifying thing that happened to me was going into SM with 3 friends (I play Horde) and running down into some building that had a winding staircase going underground, we hid their and then I ran up the stairs to see if any Allys were their and I saw a few rogues go stealth. So my friends and I ran back upstairs to be greeted by 30+ Allys waiting (x

Way back when in 2005 (?) I led a crack team of months-behind second string feeder guild players on a mission to stop some Alliance guilds from hitting the world dragon down in Feralas - serious business at the time. It turned out to be a double raid of PALS 4 LIFE and some others, geared to the teeth from BWL and maybe AQ. I had 8 or 9 people with me, MC geared - when we all of a sudden saw ~60-80 better-geared Alliance. We got scared and hid out.


But at least we managed to gank the P4L guild leader and one other right as they were about to be the last people to take the portals out after easily killing the dragon.

I was on my main going to Darkshore from Azuremyst by boat. I ended up getting DCed during the loading screen. I'm finally able to get back on and log onto my main. Once everything loads, I find my character falling waaaaaaaay outside of the map of Outland with all the NPCs in Auberdine falling with me! My character finally falls far enough and dies. So I release my spirit and spawn at a spirit healer with my character's corpse at its feet which is also floating outside Outland. So my spirit falls and, instead of dying (since I'm already dead), just respawns at the spirit healer in the air. I do have time to click resurrect since my corpse is floating there, but just ended up falling and dying again.

So it's 4 in the morning, I'm stuck in an infinite loop of falling death and can't logout nor hearth. I thought about turning my computer off, but I was already in some major bug, I didn't wanna do anything that might make it worse. So I ticket a GM, but that was taking a long time and I was tired and wanted to get off. HOWEVER! I had 2 guildies on, who I have never seen nor spoke with before. I asked (begged, maybe) them to help me out by grouping up, going to the nearest summoning stone, and summon me. I was able to time the amount of time I was falling before I died again and coordinated with them to summon me. Luckily, it worked and I thanked (and paid) them for the inconvenience.

Back at 80, I randomly decided to go exploring. Being the lore nerd I am, I went to find the emerald dream portals. I believe it was Seradane where I saw one of the dragons and immediately had a bad feeling. But being the idiot I am, decided to go in and solo it. Big mistake.

Was on my first character, in stranglethorn vale, on the coast by the ZG island eating some food, camera was nice and low behind me, anyways a basalisk spawned and snuck up on me from behind, my camera clipped inside its head and i got this horrible reverse inside tooth-skinned mouth ungulf my screen for a few seconds before my cereal was airbourne

Didn't happen to me, but this scared my girlfriend.. While grinding archaeology, C'thun started speaking to her and tell her she would die, her heart would explode, she would betray her friends, etc. She panicked the first time, not recognising it and worse still, she knew I had levelled archaeology to max without ever coming across this. She wondered if her speakers were possessed! Turns out I happened to read a couple of days back of this happening to other players, so I explained that I thought it was probably some sorta cool precursor to something else happening in the future, archaeology related, and she calmed down.

I went to tol barad the orher day for dailies and while on about 5k HP a spider chased me right the way across the island, so I thought, "the sea will save me!" Oh Tank.
